Just a note for you Triad peeps. The 12z Euro mauls us with the deformation band this evening from 00zish through maybe 08z. We'll see if it happens, but it's a lot of snow if it does. Don't sleep on the possibility. Remember what happened to Big Frosty and company in February 2014.

The latest HRRR drops another 1" qpf on the CLT metro area https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CZWVeFjUEAAJZVh.png

Crazy if true.

The HRRR is showing heavy returns under that.

Not yet, 850's are crashing from west to east. It's still rain at 3000 feet over Atlanta. It won't be long though between 5-7 we should see a switchover for the duration of the event.

thanks, got it.  that makes sense.  yes im hoping for a quick inch in the Dunwoody area.  radar back west looks good for us...

NWS GSP thought ULL will do more magic for SW NC (despite HRRR runs) and it look like they're on money. What a band setting up over NE Georgia.

yep and i am in the middle of that band  it is just pouring sleet and freezing rain and looks like a few token flakes here and there.   .25" ice now and its getting pretty dark to the sw.  the temp held steady all morning (like 7 hours maybe) at 30 its now 27
