It's not fair that the west coast gets their news, model runs and EVERYTHING ELSE 3 hours before us

 

 

Yes, but there are well acknowledged drawbacks.  As The San Francisco Chronicle once famously put it, "We're three hours behind the rest of the world."

If someone posts pbp and it's wrong on east vs. west etc., they should be suspended for a week.

movie shoot? You can't be serious about the climate change remark..And yes that is Michelle Pfeiffer coming

out of what is supposed to be a Florida house..

she was awful yesterday. Claiming a 80mph cane that caused well documented  destruction was a 47mph tropical storm. 

 

 

My awful still light years ahead of an ordinary person's great...

It's easy to lose sight of how awful December and most of January were last season. A rainy and mild holiday season is a major mark against any winter.

 

Only the first twenty-three days of January were bad.  The last eight were good.  From that point on, the winter was very, very good.

Dreaming of a white Christmas already?...why not..there have been white Christmas's during el nino years...2009 had snow on the ground Christmas morning...2002 had snow Christmas afternoon...1969 and 1976 had snow Christmas night...1963 is probably the best el nino year white Christmas...5" was on the ground Christmas morning from a storm that ended Christmas eve...1930 and 1896 had snow on the ground Christmas morning...1968 was cold and dry...Other years like 1965 were mild...1982 was the warmest ever...1979 was mild...there are some other mild Christmas's also..1940, 1977, 1986, 1987, 1994,

I consider 23/31 to be a solid "most". :)

 

Last Xmas/Xmas Eve were delightful iirc, only 70's can top 60's and sunshine at that time of year.

If there's one day of the year that should never torch, it's Christmas. KPOU put up a +24F departure on Christmas Day. That's abominable—and not the snowman kind of abominable.

 The way that blizzard only impacted the Suffolk County (as most of them do) made it particularly enjoyable...whenever someone says, "I'm so happy you won the lottery"...its like a total lie...unless the neighbor plans to share the prize with you.  But seeing others fail (not in a really bad way, because that would be cruel...but on little things, like not getting the storm they wanted) is really rather edifying and provides people (normal, honest ones) with sustenance...as it makes one appreciate one's situation more.  On the other hand, seeing others succeed invariably promotes feelings of jealousy & avarice.
