B-Rent
As my signature points to, three years ago we were looking at a major severe outbreak. November is such a fun month.
Stebo
how do you get away with 1/4 mile but only -SN? Surface vis is 3/4SM, the prevailing surface vis decides snow intensity.
Thunder Road
related topic...google laporte anomaly cool stuff That's awesome! We have JSTOR access at school... I'm gonna have to dig up the 1968 paper. And apparently later debunked as observer bias according to one my professors. Not that steel mill-effect precipitation doesn't happen, but it doesn't really happen enough to show up as an anomaly.

No, the 1/4SM is the tower's visibility, as we have both a surface and a tower visibility here at DTW.

Is such a massive amount of relatively heavy snow like that bad for the car's suspension? That had to weigh almost as much as a small car by its self. nwohweather
Average high in Toledo for the end of November is typically in the upper 40s, to see us not getting above 35 for the next week is pretty bitter. Next Tuesday's high of 25 is going to be brutal, most everyone's body is not used to these frigid temps yet
Gilbertfly
had my first shot of -SN after seeing flurries most of the day...playing street hockey with the boys out front was def quite chilly for mid November standards...especially with the winds which were kickin' pretty good

stormtrackertf
Looks like we'll keep our dusting overnight here. Some really slick spots on the overpasses where the snow melted on contact earlier and flash froze as the sun went down. There was a bad accident on Michigan Ave. at I-94 about an hour ago, the bridge was really slick and an SUV rear-ended a sedan and caused it to veer onto oncoming traffic where it hit a pickup head-on. In fact, there was a spot I saw while driving tonight in Taylor that appeared to have like 0.7-0.8" on the grass...but just bare at my house (this mornings 0.1 melted). Chicago WX
EDIT: pick up another heavier burst after this initial one, that lasted 15-20 minutes. Poured fluffy flakes. Everything covered...went out and measured 0.5". On the board with measurable for 2014-15. Just got one of those bursts of snow here, that you guys up in N IL had earlier tonight. First photo of the season for me. A little late with the shot, so I missed the peak fun stuff.

stormtrackertf
What's in the box? It's actually not a box, it's burlap wrapped around a shrub. Last year it took a beating with the prolonged extreme cold, so as a precaution I wrapped it up this year.
smoof
Had a very very light dusting on the car this morning, just a little powder around the window frame.
