Lol at idiocy...there was no hype beyond 2-3 days of heat which most of nj has experienced...

Models were advertising temps in the 95 degree range coupled with dews above 70. I don't think anyone questioned the duration of the heat, just its intensity.

the shortwave that passed through last night trended stronger and stronger and that changed everything

A bird could take a dump on the road and our severe chances get killed. It's always something that seems to creep up at the last minute, which is why all hopes for severe should always stay nill to none.

a sig worthy response. my buddy Cody who lives in Moore,OK and is an air force E-7 at tinker AFB gets severe thunderstorms weekly and true ones with hail, 70 mph winds and sadly the tornadoes as well. luckily he's been sparred but here getting a true severe thunderstorm is like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow or Yanksfan and Forkyfork not taking jabs at each other

You have to be careful with some of those wunderground stations...the one you cite is obviously wrong. Its a combination of cheap stations and improper siting. Some of them do not have adequate protection for the thermo, so therefore they heat up to much in direct sunlight. Also mounting on the roof will cause other problems with temps and precip. Its become easier now for people to put their stations online but I've noticed quite a few that have problems.

Maybe Big Bird will train little bird to use the toilet next week, so it does not happen again.  I am more afraid of the seagull farting in Portland, Maine screwing it up with a BDCF.

Made it to 93 in Long Beach. Strong northerly wind making the difference.

...it was hot right down to the beaches yesterday..gusty NW wind was like

a furnace..especially when you got out of the 62* water..great beach day yesterday!!

The 0z Euro Ensemble mean looks very warm/hot going into July 4th. 588dm heights over NYC metro.

Not sure of the exact magnitude yet, but the JMA weeklies build the ridge back around that time after the

late June trough lifts out and NAO turns positive.
