  1. Past hour
  2. Nothing like a long rain delay at Citi Field yesterday, clears up then monsoons again. Absolutely drenched during the game. Was amazed how many fans stayed till the 8th when it started pouring again. The cold temps didn't help either. Gorgeous day now with clouds finally clearing and blue skies prevailing. Can someone share that cocorahs link for rainfall totlas? I need to save link at work.
  3. This actually passes for decent. Transitioned to partly sunny sky conditions and into the lows 60’s. Okay with t-shirt and jeans. Big win today.
  4. I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend! We're having our cookouts tomorrow and Monday. I'm glad the weather is looking pretty good for both days with temps warming up a little bit. Should see 70 tomorrow and mid 70s on Monday. Today still isn't the greatest with the clouds and cool breeze with high temps only making it to the mid 60s.
  5. Make sure you "try them out" in the store before you buy one.
  6. Yes the farther south the better. New England type climates suck so it's best to be as far away from that region as possible.
  7. isn't that ULL *moving out* though, that's what all the TV mets have been saying.
  8. @Ginx snewx This thing has already put on a foot this year…more than any other tree I have. After years maybe it’s finally done with the taproot.
  9. Yeah some periods of sun with popcorn showers in between. In a SHRA currently. 53.5° so far is a win!
  10. Today
  11. It is. They do have some good building blocks that just need experience. Happy to see a vets like Middleton and Smart there to teach. Still miffed about the draft lottery; too much of a coincidence to not make you wonder. OKC did a great job building their team. Hoping the Wiz can do the same.
  12. Much better today than forecasted. Lots of breaks and up near 60 already.
  13. The Whittle–Somerset–London–Lida, Kentucky tornado has been rated EF-4 at the Sunshine Hills subdivision and EF-3 at and near the London Corbin Airport. In total, the tornado went 59.9 miles. https://www.foxweather.com/weather-news/kentucky-london-somerset-laurel-pulaski-tornado-recovery-death-toll
  14. NYC had a max of 46 (26° BN) on 5/25/67, coldest max on record by 16 days (44 on 5/9/77, another remarkable day). They also had a 3-day cold snap in mid-March (16-18) that had means of -23/-28/-26, followed by a 9.8" storm a couple days later. It was also memorable in NNJ - March had 30"+ snowfall, a max of 10 on 3/17 and low of -3 the next day. April 24 had 1.5" as a coastal storm was finishing then 3" overnight on the 27th, the 2 latest dates I recorded measurable snow. May 25 rain was modest, but wind toppled several newly leaved oaks.
  15. I think a hire like that is coming, but for now they seem content letting the team struggle/learn and get picks. One more year of this and it’ll be go time…if not sooner…if Keefe doesn’t show improvements. This upcoming draft is huge for them.
  16. For like the 9th weekend in a row I too will NOT be birdwatching, i.e., not viewing an O’s games.
  17. Yeah I have plenty of moss. Where it grows, I leave it, but weeds grow through it. One side of my back yard(the area over the septic drain field) gets a lot of sun in the summer, and it wont grow there.
  18. Low temp 48 imby/Columbia Saturday morning.
  19. Sunny at jones beach. Hopefully it holds out
  20. About ten years ago I abandoned the lawn merry-go-round and let my front yard go back to nature. Planted a few trees and shrubs and now it looks like a maturing second growth forest. Very nice. Same with my back yard sans the septic field. I have a few small lawn patches left but they're mostly shade and have turned into moss which looks a good as lawn but doesn't need any water or cutting. Used to have to mow my lawn weekly but now I only break out the mower about twice a summer. Not sure how big lawns ever became desirable.
