  1. Today
  2. It appears that a combination of a couple of factors lead to the setup... An MCV was passing nearby (just south) and a weak front was moving through, which aided in the initial development of activity. There was also a lake breeze that was set up just inland, which appears to have had a [positive] effect on t'storm outflow attempting to push westward against a weak 10-20KT southwesterly LLJ that was in place, thus leading to the re-development and training of activity across that corridor.
  3. amazing how the nws and local tv meteorologists completely botched the forecast for nyc..
  4. 93/72 temp split for Wednesday...with all the potential last three days, have picked up just 0.21" rain .
  5. A nice bonus moisture feed moving north just west of 95 from west of DC through central MD. I’m hoping it makes it up here overnight.
  6. Still waiting for my turn! lol. Picked up 0.46" which is, oddly, exactly the same as yesterday. So, 0.92" over two days is great, especially for all the brown foliage, but... I am requesting mayhem. Just once this year?
  7. Nothing here....teasing all night. So strange but love watching the radar
  8. -That poster has “cat 5” in the name and identifies as an early 20s pre-med college student per his/her profile. -That person, who has been posting there since the 2021 season, comes across as intelligent and writes well. However, he/she is also a permabull. I recall no clearly bearish seasonal posts from him/her these last 4+ seasons. -The bullish bias is hinted at by the wording used in that post you just posted: 1. doesn’t think stability will be a major “problem”; stability is a “problem” from perspective of someone who wants more activity 2. “Are the subtropics being anomalously warm really that big of a problem”…uses the word “problem” in a similar way
  9. Total for the evening here was 3.52". Someone else's turn tomorrow, lol.
  10. This one says it was 107 at one station. It was 100 all over the metro area. 104 at Fort Morgan, 104 at Fort Collins-Loveland. Denver tied a record of 100 from 2022.
  11. Have been unable to sleep due to intense lightning and thunder overhead. Sitting at 2.52” and still raining a little. Shockingly it looks like another band may be building up to our west that could move through later
  12. Just a few left over drops of rain 72f humidity 98% dewpoint 72f Total Rainfall: 2.90"
  13. Yep and now watch out in NJ. Tornado warning for Ocean County until 11:30.
  14. Well the rain break was nice while it lasted (even though that map above says it’s been slightly below normal here but I can tell you it has not lol), heavy rain ever since I got home and probably even before that. In other news, I’ve accepted a position in Billings, Montana so I will no longer be a resident mountain member for the time being come August but as of now planning to keep my house here and hopefully rent it out so I’ve got some place to come back to in the future.
  15. Weird radar looked good....got nothing
  16. Columbia a chilly 73.8. 0.90” today, 1.35” over last 2 days. 3.09” for the month-to-date
  17. Yeah I've had like 3 storms since 6 this evening that's blown through here. Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
  18. Lower Macungie and only had 0.17. I am shocked we have not gotten torrential rains over the last few days in this soup, but the bands have setup elsewhere. I am over 2” for the month but relatively little recently.
  19. I'm in Falmouth so hoping the axis of heavy precip is from central CT through Boston tomorrow morning. Comfy night here.
  20. I like where I live and I'm glad most people don't live here.
