  1. Past hour
  2. 2.46” as of 6:25pm so looks like I’m a winner today
  3. Models definitely missed this one. I was expecting any decent rain to stay west of DC today and tonight. It looks like a fire hose aimed at PG and AA county. I was expecting this to be over Frederick this evening
  4. 1.5 in my gauge so far from two flush hits and more incoming. I'd love to see moderate rain all evening with a few rumbles of thunder. We deserve this!
  5. Denver has quietly reached and then surpassed 40 90° or above days. What was once an uncommon event has now become routine in the warming climate. Through August 2, 2026, Denver has had 41 such days. During 1872-1999, Denver saw 40 or more such days about once every 7.5 years. Since 2000, such years have occurred once every 1.2 years. Eleven of the last 12 years have seen 40 or more such days.
  6. Incredible bust for short term model guidance. Some places about to pick up 3" of rain on the day.
  7. Must be your location. Crickets and katydids have been doing their thing for a few weeks here.
  8. I’m laying that grass seed down right after Labor Day. If they don’t ditch the water restrictions, I’m going to protest.
  9. It appears per radar that I’m about to get clobbered with heavy rain. Rain started ~5:50PM.

  11. Yeah nothing abnormal. We’ve seen a few up here.
  12. Just got back from athens, second to last day there were fires everywhere. In the first pic, you can see smoke from much larger fires in the background. The one pictured was put out within an hour or two of starting. One of the first things I saw just an hour ago after hopping off the plane was a video of two wildfire helicopters near Athens colliding, allegedly killing two of four crew... just kind of hits because we quite literally could have seen those guys amongst the dozens of copters flying around that afternoon
  13. 12Z UKMET has no TC but it does have this vigorous TW on Thu evening moving NW and then NNW from there bringing convection into the NFL/GA/SC coast on Fri 8/7. I may have to watch this. Hopefully it ends up nothing more than this or a low end TS at the very worst:
  14. But management did sign Baz, Bradish, and Alonso to long term deals... We have not had that in the past.
  15. The cause of the Phillies first rain delay is arriving here with some drizzle. 83F with a 73F dew point.
  16. If you move both Adley and Holliday you tell the fan base the rebuild was for nothing, since those are both 1.1 picks. Elias and Alby are gone at the end of the season is my guess.
  17. Eastern side of DC area looks to get hit solidly this evening
  18. Rough cutoff over western fairfax county today. I’m sitting just under .3 while under a mile away is 1 inch plus. Suns now fighting to come out, hoping we still got a batch or two of rain left.
  19. I finished July with 5.69" of rain but my last rain hit was 0.02" this past Thursday. Need a good soaker. No 90s the past 3 days, but 88s for highs including today. Have been watching what was once a solid rain band that has become disorganized as it moved east. Currently an overcast 84 and 73 dp. Also, I don't know if it just this area but I haven't heard any crickets yet. Usually they would have been going last month and the katydids would be warming up now.
  20. There’s always a stressed tree or two that do that.
  21. Damn. My NAM comment from earlier didn't age well lol. Radar looks amazing right now. Looks at that fetch of moisture.
  22. Really have no confidence that Elias is going to make a move here that'd positively impact the team but moving Roger's and Adley would bring some value. Moving Jackson seems like overkill and would probably alienate what's left of the fanbase.
  23. Got a good dose with the last round. 1.39" so far for the day. That's the most in what seems like forever...
