Good morning all! I was pondering what is the best way to handle shoveling our driveway today. Do we start now and get a jump on it, or wait until later after the freezing rain comes? That way it won’t be so icy underneath? I love shoveling. ☕️

Looks like this storm isn’t for awhile

For those high fiving the NAM, its whiff on the precip intensity and amounts is not something to be celebrating…

I totally forgot its conference championship Sunday. Add on winter weather = epic day.

Not saying that will translate directly but just noting it came in a bit less than what they were expecting down there. If we should get 12:1 with the thump and higher toward the end I won't be complaining.

If we had 12:1 ratios I would be at 7.5" instead of 5.8"

Seems like the northern extent of it did tick a little north. Don’t think it affects his area. Might affect places like PYM-EWB but prob not a game-changer in the overall scheme of the storm. An hour or two earlier could cost them a couple inches.

IAD reported 5.1 inches at 7am. They will make it to 6+

4 inches in Fallston as of 7:15 am. Kinda ripping snow at the moment. If this can hold til 10 am here that would be swell.

Up to 23 here now. ZR has lightened up but that's better for accumulation. Might have dodged a bullet here! PHEW.

So far it seems like the lack of high ratio fluff is the only thing “off”. Dang warm nose.

Looks like we got way more snow than expected last night.

10 and snow. On call for work for back up to the back up plow guy in case something serious happens. I have to take my son to work in a bit. Not looking forward to this lol.

I think it's more of a function of earlier start time as the amount of sleet is still the same?

I was outside from 5 - 6 plowing 4 inches of snow mixed with sleet to get ahead of the sleet bomb. Regarding this event. A picture is worth a thousand words

I find myself drawn into it at times and inevitably getting drawn into some kind of minor confrontation with someone or other from Central, New Jersey or the jersey shore, speaking like they are representative of the entire forum. I usually come to my senses, then and walk away. It's best to just realize there's real weather going on out there. Why do I care that someone from Raritan is complaining that we, as in everyone, have not seen 6 inches of snow in the last 10 years.

That's the New London I know. Makes me think of my days of youth. Actually seeing 2-3 would be more common.

That last bit of wood I used brought inside up to 71°. Outside is 31° but the unit is frozen under .3-.4 in ice. Also - here’s TWC app’s precip radar for our area. Pick a damn struggle Clarksville!!!!! Every single precip type is showing for the city - rain, snow, sleet, ice.
