  2. No one wanted this mess looks like my old haunts had a tornado I'm sure the power was out there for a few hours it always happens in weather like this. It rained here for 6 hours between 12:30 and 6:30 with temperatures in the low 60s my heat turned on. I didn't lose power but my TV signal went out from 2:30 to 6:30 when the sun came back out the TV signal came back. It always goes out in heavy rain.
  3. Best time of the year! I love Sept and Oct… warm days, cool nights. An occasional tropical storm is nice too with nor’easters to follow.

  8. Yeah I have burrs on one of my trees for the first time too…I think I counted 5. Unfortunately that tree is succumbing to blight. The other 2 big trees flowered too. You can get burrs without pollination, but the nuts are usually shriveled up and infertile. Ours were from Go Native trees in PA. I’ve gotten some since then from a couple other sources…just gotta get them planted.
  9. That nice little line added 0.25" so 1.90" now. 82/64 temp split today.
  10. 0.75” now. He will “meh” and “boring” it in the morning. 10” in July and the first 3 weeks of August and still preaching Stein.
  11. Those winds afterwards reminded me of that exactly, like a nice cold frontal passage with temps dropping and gusty winds.
  12. Reached 3.00" here, still raining Edit: Actually 2.37" in rain gauge don't go by radar estimate lol
  13. Looks like a major storm in Hendersonville.
  14. That's at Sun and Surf Beach Club. I grew up in Queens and went to Silver Point Beach Club just east of there for many years. Sad to see this happen there. That appears to be at least high end EF-0 and quite possibly EF-1 from the several posts I've looked at. Haven't seen anything that would make me think EF-2.
  15. 0.21” No close lightning this evening.
  16. Now at 2.16” and raining again, Carteret.
  17. Leaving The Mountain Goats show here in Lititz. It feels fall-ish out.
  18. Today
  19. I'm guilty of it myself but short range models definitely eyed this area for good rains for the last 24 hours. Many of the other big events this summer were definitely trending NW of the city at the end and the writing was on the wall.
  20. 1.49” the rain is relentless this summer
  21. Rockaways/Long Beach have gotten some good ones this summer. I think it's a first for an actual tornado impact there, I think the last warning was in 2007. So many times the storms just go poof once they hit the marine layer there. In August the waters are warm enough to lessen that effect.
  22. Have not seen rain that torrential in a long time… and the winds were impressive after the heaviest rain passed. Nice and cool out now this evening… wondering if the worst of the humidity/heat is now passed on for the remainder of the summer?!?! Nothing real hot seems to be popping up in any extended forecasts!
  23. 1.42” here in Orange County,NY
  24. Let all the SW peeps get their precip now, and let's shift the jacks north and east for winter.
