  2. There were significant issues at many climate sites when ASOS was installed in the mid 90s concerning snowfall. Some sites like ORH have big gaps in the record b/c of this. So I would avoid F6 data when it is obvious it does not jibe w/ surrounding reports. And even when snow observations were set at climate sites were set post-ASOS, we know just from BOS the issues were still rife. And how about DCA official snowfall for the Bliz of '16?, what a joke when you look at other reports in the metro area.
  3. Getting pelted with sleet right now in Lebanon. Temp down to 38. Less than 90 mins ago it was 62 .
  4. Snow & sleet mix in Marysville at 10:20 pm with temperature down to to 35. Very impressive when considering it was 60 at 6 pm!
  5. I have wondered about AI influence as well. Our approach to forecasting nowadays seems less local.
  6. Had a great weekend with my youngest up in the ADK this past weekend! Skiing left a bit to be desired but we still had a great time nonetheless. Skied Whiteface on Friday. Glad we packed the carvers because it was a pure groomer day. We did a ton of laps and several top to bottom leg burners. Everything was pretty skied off by 2pm so we headed out. Saturday we skied Titus. I’d like to ski there with more snow but I wasn’t at all impressed due to slow old chairs and lack of vertical. Staff were super friendly though. Conditions were slightly better with a couple inches of fresh. Lastly, we hit Middlebury on our way home yesterday. Place is always so rad. Ripping skiers, happy patrollers willing to drop ropes and friendly people everywhere. Skiing was much better with 4-5” over ice and rocks but besides the steeper stuff it was pretty skiable. Got some great fresh tracks down Proctor and through the woods. Voter was also fun. The rest of the mountain was well groomed with a few side quests here and there. .
  7. I really wish I could mount my little anemometer someplace away from houses. We still recorded 27mph here though, and that's something here in dense suburbia.
  8. The temperature dropped over 13'degrees within 10 seconds when it hit. Impressive Sent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk
  9. Showers are convective as well. I know it seems odd having a Severe Thunderstorm Warning with no lightning, but that is the best way the NWS can handle these types of events.
  10. Looks like a pencilominous line developing. Brief but interesting maybe:
  11. Interesting. Thunderstorms means convective, while convective does not always mean thunderstorms... I get why they have to word it that way at least because we're not exactly "general public" in here lol. Well it was an entertaining couple of minutes while it swept through at least. Power flickered but is still on.
  12. 68 mph gust at the Reading airport! SPECI KRDG 170213Z 29041G59KT 1 1/2SM R36/4000VP6000FT +RA FEW021 BKN027 OVC035 09/06 A2927 RMK AO2 PK WND 28059/0211 WSHFT 0159 RAB08 PRESRR P0007 T00890061
  13. If we hadn’t had that morning junk this would have probably been bad stuff
  14. Dang, 5.2, can they hit 6 if a couple of those snow showers hit over night?
  15. The frontal storms were far worse wind wise. I had the pleasure of being outside when it hit due to a little huskey puppy that after taking a deuce decided the cool breeze was too good to leave despite the rain and took off running around the yard. Sent from my SM-S731U using Tapatalk
  16. Tornado in Henrico/Goochalnd. Roof blown off. That last line was bad.
  17. What is your seasonal total up there. That is a phenomenal amount of snow.
