  3. partly sunny here after .56 of rain last nigh
  4. Stats from Carlisle... Rainfall yesterday was 0.67". Overnight I recorded 0.11" for an event total of 0.78". Tentative total precip for May is 8.81" and YTD is 15.31". Low this morning was 54.7. Very low pressure for the end of May. My pressure bottomed out at 29.38" early this morning. The cold front has not reached us yet as the pressure has been steady all night, right around 29.41".
  5. Probably about .4” on the Cape. We camp but we survive.
  6. Tents are native. We let them live Gypsies we splat.
  7. New City Rockland County checking in,,,,,we have outdoor activities today and It looks as if my area wont be outta the the rain woods until noon = do you peeps think there's a chance that this rain ends for good here In New City before noon or are we begging ? Imo the rest of the day afterward we will be able to get in
  8. mm mentioned this yesterday but this thing is really sub-standard synoptic in scale. It's between meso and synoptic .. in Met we used to refer to that range as 'meso-beta' scaled. There's an intense rain ball over SE NY with warning headlines... and then these spokes like being on the east side of a tropical system racing N - meant as metaphor ...don't get your buns lubed with mustered. Anyway, the models appeared yesterday to be more spread out/interpretive over what was actually happening at the time, and so far that's translated up to being a more localized impact. One other aspect, we were commenting on the depth of the low pressure... I think this whole construct was misleading a bit... The low was developing in a region that was already 998 mb/negative regional anomaly with a broad surface trough in place. You take that initial condition and the low goes down 10 mb and suddenly you got something in the mid 980s... but it's really 1000mb low
  9. Creek is still rising here. Gage height, feet Most recent instantaneous value: 4.55 05-31-2025 08:00 EDT
  10. 0.82” in the gauge this morning and my May CoCoRaHS total is 8.17”.
  11. Ended up with 1.14" of rain. Makes it 6.97" for the month.
  12. Pushing 1” in the stratus. More avian poo in the tipper.
  13. Very solid soaking here, just over 2 inches. I hope coming into June we finally turn this corner and get into summer mode.
  14. We were so dry during the fall and winter with a huge deficit that the ground has been absorbing all of this rain during the spring without any creek flooding until today as you said. It’s been like a sponge. Happy the groundwater is certainly recharged now heading into the summer. I’m happy for the farmers in the Valley as well. Thankfully, it’s going to be in the 80s next week and sunny for a few days next week. .
  15. Low 54 degrees, we picked up .24” from the storm. Wind was only 6mph. That’s 2 events that we lucked out and missed the heavy rain. Mow # 11 complete yesterday. Was mowing every 3 days beginning of the season. Now mowing every 5 days. 7.58” for the month Normal valve 3.74”
  16. Up to 2.49” now that there’s a break in the steady rain, 9.26” for May
  17. from Carlisle this morning. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1405381087142878
  18. you're probably under a Flash Flood Warning. the drought was gone 2 weeks ago
  19. 1.73” for the event and 8.33” for the month, not as insane as a number of you for the monthly total, but still insane! Mid 50s with wrap around rain this morning on the backside of the low is just odd. This is the strangest May I can ever remember. .
  20. Temperature departure at MDT through yesterday now stands at 0.00 thanks to the cool down from the last 2 weeks. Below normal temperatures are forecast for the last day of May today, so we should put yet another Below normal month in the books this year.
  21. Drought is now busted at MDT. MDT now has a yearly surplus of precip…
  22. This happened around 1:30am I was sleeping didn't hear a thing here. and i'm about 2 miles (as the crow flies) from this. Outside of Berrysburg between square and St John's Road Another post on Facebook from someone: The entire valley is covered in debris. Trees have fallen, mailboxes were in the road, chairs, lawn displays, etc. I traveled between Eville, Mbg, Dalmatia, etc this morning. It was insane the amount of stuff all in the road.
  23. 4.1 in the gauge and still coming down. Drought here gone. .
