  1. Past hour
  2. Nice evening, down to 63/59.
  3. Pop up glancing thundershower.. .03
  4. Tomorrow looks like a blowtorch too now-no rain until evening at best
  5. Mostly cloudy here in Frederick lol
  6. Wow! Do you have a higher resolution image ? That's a keeper for sure
  7. We had a pretty impressive highly localized hail storm west of the city today. I had to walk through a parking lot to get to my car. The hail and the melt water were deep enough that the water level was above my ankles and fully flooded my shoes. I tripped on the ice about 40 stairs up on an exposed outdoor staircase and promptly fell to the bottom. But I was able to prevent my head from bashing into the ground with my hands. Less than a mile away, no evidence of hail. The storm was about 4-4:30 pm, and the hail has still not fully melted off the car as I look at it now at 10 past 7 pm. I would guess we had 5-7 inches of accumulation of nickel to quarter sized hail even though temps never dropped below the 50s. Hail is nasty business as the ten cuts on my hands will attest to. I've had to get minor roof repairs four times in the 12 years I've owned my home here from hail damage. The little snow event / rainstorm we had in April was nice after such a long, dry winter and early Spring. As always, severe cold shots/snow events here in mid-late Spring are highly tornadic systems down the road. Monsoon looks like it will be active to me, and the long-term models are hinting at a relatively cool Summer here.
  8. Nice storm again. Deep loud thunder and gusty winds into the 30s.
  9. I can see some of the lightning from it from my house.
  10. Same here. Low 60s. Peepers are waning here but are still active. It’s a soothing chirp at night for sure. I’ll keep my windows open this time of year, even if it gets down into the upper 30s. Only time I will close em is if it’s windy and temps drop too low inside. I don’t mind it when it’s in the 50s inside when I sleep this time of year.
  11. Saw a nice lightning strike on the way home from Shaws. Checked radar when I got home and that did a truly exceptional job of pissing me off.
  12. What a great day this turned out to be. Got woken up by what I thought was an explosion but ended up being that line of t-storms. It was not your typical thunder but more one of those static build-ups that leads to to tremendous bangs. Rain was nice too. Won’t go over well but we need the rain. The spring green-up just soaks up this moisture that it leads to ground level dryness and that leads to these flare ups of fire. Let’s quell that danger and also dampen the pollen. Does not look great for outdoor activities for some for the next 3-5 days. We can all hold hands and get through this together for what we will receive on the other side.
  13. Windows and doors wide open all evening. Down to 63F so may need to close up soon, but the warm season sounds of insects, peepers, is a different vibe than the past 6 months.
  14. Had a high temp of 88 here. I planted the warm weather vegetables today -- tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, zucchini and pole lima beans. It felt good planting the vegetable garden in warm weather today.
  15. The water coming out of the faucets in NYC is still nice and cold. Once that goes warm is when I truly despair.
  16. a few storms NW, near monads. maybe Mason/Hollis can get something before it collapses just before ASH?
  17. That much rain in central pa = head to conowingo midweek.
  18. I've heard it'simiiar to a yellow Jacket sting.. Dolomedes tenebrosus, commonly known as the dark fishing spider, is venomous, but its venom is not medically significant to humans. While they can bite, they are not aggressive and usually bite only when mishandled. The bite is typically no more severe than a bee sting, and most people do not experience serious effects.
  19. What is the human reaction if bitten by one of those monsters? Rash, poison, death?
  20. AI image search results... What a beautiful spider..
  21. Today
  22. Columbia: 0.20" late this afternoon in downpour in my ‘hood.
  23. All showers and storms died out as they approached Bergen County. Hopefully the Bergen Bubble is not in effect for this system coming. Grass is already getting light in some spots.
