We worry

Absolutely. This was a warm rain event 36-48 hrs ago. So we watch and wait. No worries.

Some guidance gives a burst this evening. Might be more for your hood where maybe you can get down to 32-32. Expecting maybe a coating here.

I think we would have to go back to the 1980s to get close to 25” from Newark out to Islip without at least a cat 1 NESIS KU event. This pattern is very unusual in that we are getting a strong ridge across the CONUS and a strong -NAO at the same time. So the Northern Stream is active for both rain like we saw last Friday and snow with the clipper before that. I have my doubts that we could get to 25” just on snowy clippers alone alternating with warmer storms and more rain or mix. I think it’s going to take a KU NESIS event to get us over the finish line. But the week 2 forecasts have been so volatile that not sure what we will get yet heading into January. We need at least one week 2 forecast to hold to have some confidence going forward beyond New Years.

Might be C-1” inside of 128. Even here could struggle for an inch but that depends on if we get some better enhancement in the evening for about 2-3 hours. Won’t surprise me though if we get skunked given the last few years.

Drove north a bit for work a few miles. snow and a coating on some pavement and grass

Pancakes flying here. Had virga the past couple hours but stuff has arrived! Already coating the cars, grass, and untreated surfaces. Temp is 36 with dp 31.
