  1. Past hour
  2. Severe torrential rains setup for south central Texas evolves, and it looks like poor I 35 where I live will get a few scraps, probably an inch, while just 5 miles west may get 8 to 12 inches and delightful destructive flooding with thousands of exciting water rescues will be ongoing probably only a few miles west of my back yard. I hate this solution, I see it a lot down here. Buda has a premium Ultra Klingon Rain Shield. It's all powered up and all ready to go! What else is new. I am pretty much cursed. Everywhere I go, severe killing drought occurs. Scary thought. I am assuredly on the WRONG SIDE of the cutoff, and make no mistake about it, this particular cutoff will be agonizing for many. We have a pretty serious drought and Buda will very likely miss out. I wish I was in India in that place that gets north of 1000 inches per year. I'd be in Heaven! But I'm not, I am in Buda and I will miss out. Again.
  3. I had to smoosh a couple slow flying skeeters that were getting a little too close earlier. It def has that mid June feel right now with all the moisture in the air, minus a couple hours of daylight.
  4. High of 56F, with mist… but foliage around the house is really starting to come along.

Liberty Utilities my natural gas provider in my city, says I can lock in , but has to be before October 29 or so..... Just wondering .. thoughts from guys in the utliity fields etc. My luck I lock in and then the price tumbles! Haha
  7. Sounds like a summer evening out there with crickets and katydids chirping
  8. Its a data bug. The reanalysis data up there for July and August is near normal. https://x.com/WorldClimateSvc/status/2075198146641051650
  9. Looks like a very sharp cutoff across the metro area. Could easily be a situation tomorrow where Westminster has .3" and Parker has 1.5". Bummer that we're just a bit too far north to get in on the heavy action. Southern CO from the springs east is gonna get drenched.
  10. Playoff baseball underway for the north and south-side! All road/away action for the first series. However if one or both of them advance and return home, there should be some perfect October Baseball weather during the weekend and next week!
  11. @BroadWing3544were there any unusual reports that you saw?
  12. Can't say that with certainty yet.
  13. Like clockwork! Time for our deluge sandwiched in between dry stretches. perfect wx for watching some playoff Baseball
  14. Hiking all day Sunday at Dolly Sods. I’ve been hoping for that south trend to end up being the correct solution.
  15. Today
  16. can we all agree that after friday no more 80 degree weather maybe until next spring?
  17. Another dreary dark cloudy day and the people who get paid to forecsst get it wrong again
  18. Tomorrow will see partly sunny skies, along with temperatures topping out in the lower and middle 70s. Thursday and Friday will be unseasonably warm days to mark the start of October. Highs will reach the upper 70s and lower 80s across the region. It will turn somewhat cooler during the weekend and a strong cold front will likely move across the region Sunday or Sunday night. The ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly was +4.7°C and the Region 3.4 anomaly was +3.1°C for the week centered around September 23. For the past six weeks, the ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly has averaged +4.40°C and the ENSO Region 3.4 anomaly has averaged +2.83°C. Both ENSO regions have set new all-time records. The ongoing strong El Niño, will continue to strengthen through the mid-fall. The SOI was -16.10 today. The preliminary Arctic Oscillation (AO) was -0.287 today. Based on sensitivity analysis applied to the latest guidance, there is an implied near 100% probability that New York City will have a cooler than normal September (1991-2020 normal). September will likely finish with a mean temperature near 68.4° (0.8° below normal). Supplemental Information: The projected mean would be 0.4° above the 1981-2010 normal monthly value.
  19. New GFS run is a complete cave. Glad this isn’t a snow storm or the 12z euro into 18z gfs would’ve made this place a bloodbath.

  22. How... just how... This weekend showed signs that we've finally turned the corner and that the niño was actually kicking in. How is it even possible that it was yet another rug pull and a repeat of late May... Is there ever going to be a wet pattern?
  23. Low 60, high 86. Dew point in the upper 60s most of the day.
  24. Peak seems a solid week early for you? Perhaps drought is playing a role?
  25. Sure does. Getting on my grass tonight since this weekend will be out. .
