  1. Past hour
  2. How the guy at the PVD airport Couldn’t go out when the final band left with this once in a 200 year storm is beyond me. They definitely had another 0.2-0.5 post-7pm. Took them to the very end to be their usual disappointment, but they did it. I’ll be down there today to check out totals.
  3. Of course he is....there's an unwritten bond between all weather and snow weenies.
  4. RGEM with basically an M/D line and no one else event lol. At least it was better than 06z.
  5. Well if it was just the OKX zones, there were a lot of 12+ in the Jan 25-26 storm. Technically that's the winner.
  6. Just got put under a WWA for freezing rain and sleet. Currently it’s 80/20 sleet/freezing rain.
  7. There was still a snow mound from where they plowed the parking lots on Mother's Day where I worked. We remember 2009/2010 vastly different. We were single lane in and out of our townhouses for at least two weeks.
  8. Where do you get the Montgomery airport snowfalls totals from? I thought like Poughkeepsie, which stopped measuring a few decades ago for good reason, that Montgomery doesn't measure snow. Let me know if you have the link, thanks.
  9. 2 inches difference for such a short distance.
  10. Where are you seeing the Saturday wave? Nothing jumped out at me when I looked this morning.
  11. That looks very legit to me. I think anything from 35 to 45 is acceptable there down through southern and central RI. That looks like a bit more than some of those Cape pictures from 2005 in areas where 30-38 inches fell.
  12. so what you're saying is 09-10 had a perfect pattern paired in tandem with some incredible luck, that's why it was so extremely rare?
  13. It's more Thursday night, then another wave Saturday
  14. My unofficial stake showed a total increase of 3” from start to finish. Seems pretty disingenuous though as it plowed more like 6-8”. The drifting, existing snow and density made it feel like a decent amount.
  15. KSAV (official SAV station at the more inland airport) had a solidly cold 28 low (16 BN) and a 5 hour long freeze, not too common this late in the winter. The daily record low is 25. That’s quite the impressive turnaround compared to the record high (86) and high low (65) set just 3 days ago! KSVN had a low of 27. Today’s high will be a bit warmer but still only ~mid 50s, which is well below the normal of 67. This will be another great day for a walk.
  16. Are you sure you want to spend your retirement with us lunatics?
  17. I wonder what it would be like to experience the Laconia Washington 3 day storm?
  18. I'll take 103" of snow and I DGAF how warm it is.
  19. Thanks! I'll have to look it up for December and February.
  20. I wonder if Fridays deal ends up being Saturday some hints on 12z
  21. In terms of snowfall, it was Baltimore's snowiest winter out of about 150 years of records. That alone is a significant data point. Is it possible to get more snow, sure. But that was an anomaly greater than 1 in 150, we don't know how much greater since we don't have more records than that.... so while possible it would take a crazy ridiculous amount of good luck and everything going absolutely perfectly. We have had other winters with a mean pattern almost exactly like 2010 and they didn't end up with that much snow. They were snowy but that took a lot of good luck on top of having a good pattern.
  22. East winds and 40s with mist for weeks straight
  23. nice analysis, would explain why my area down to about DXR was seeing on and off SN+ while 15-20mi east of me was light snow, it really ripped here for a good part of yesterday morning, then would wave on and off as the dry air was trying to push east as it moved... but that band down there was relentless with the rates good Lord!
  24. Thank you. A moderate basin wide would probably be our best case outcome right now. The winter AO has been trending more negative over the last couple years and the PDO is heading in the right direction, not to a true positive but out of the ridiculous super negative winter cycle we were in. If we get a moderate basin wide next year I'll be pretty optimistic.
