  1. Past hour
  2. Naive question, I'm sure, but why is it that if there are common trending scenarios that virtually every pro on here seems to correctly recognize days out, how are those not better captured in the models by now? It feels like there's been similar discussion on certain types of storms for decades.
  3. Still expect another major Strat disruption and split in Feb.
  4. Hope nobody minds but it’s time to usher in Jammin Jan with a new thread
  5. Jammin January loading…let’s party
  6. Gonna do a December wrap/January preview post soon...bottom line is the latter December/early Jan Pacific trough regime/strenthening PV verified, but the warm up has been abbreviated since the Strat has remained uncoupled from the troposphere....so we have maintained NAO blocking. +PNA remains the theme of January...that has not changed since the fall, but it may end up having more neg NAO than the +TNH expectation given the Strat/troposphere uncoupling.
  7. I'm pretty close to the Park and it's likely we've gotten an additional 0.5 since the 7AM observation. I doubt it gets recorded at the 1PM observation.
  8. Holy compaction batkidz I measured a bit under 8" in some sheltered areas and 2 hours later the same area was under 6! For the most part I came up with about 7" of dense, sugary, heavy shit. It makes for great driveway piles
  9. Light accumulating snow here, new coating since I cleaned car 20 minutes ago
  10. Central Park got 4.3 inches. They predicted 4 - 8 inches. Not sure how this is wrong. Other parts got less, sure, but other parts got more. Snow prediction maps are not supposed to be 100% accurate.
  11. Thats how my area got close to 5..it kept snowing and piling up fast@24-25 degrees.
  12. Finally starting to get a mean trough position that is favorable for storms that are not just NW flow dusters and cold. Still a couple weeks out but a good sign for us in the lakes points west.. Changes appear to already be taKING place in the pacific.
  13. Yea we've had a steady light snow practically all morning, wasn't expecting it to last this long!
  14. That band over and east of trenton,nj is not budging. Talk about staying power.
  15. When was the last time it snowed on New Year's, I wonder?
  16. Very tiny dandarites started falling from the sky right around 5:00am and continued all through the morning hours here.
  17. I have friends of kids I coached in and around that area that don't report but all were 9.5-10.5", probably 6 so far of the people I know over there
  18. They’ve both got my NYD dusting. We’re gonna trend that into a 12/14 redux but 50 miles south.
  19. Yeah this one has really trended in our favor the last 24hrs. Bombs away
