  2. There’s 65-70 DBZ scanned south of New Britain. That’s intense. OKX radar sampling that at 3,800ft elevation it looks like.

  7. Wow, haven't seen hail that large in years, and I mean I'm including back to when I lived in OK. This was quite frightening the sound it was making hitting the roof and windows.

  10. yes -there is a dry slot west of the city till you get to State College and those storms near Harrisburg look to miss to the south - only wildcard is whether others pop up as the new radar 5 minute update showed more developing north of Harrisburg moving east

  15. Well - for us weather weenies - we either can read velocity/radar or follow people that can. So I feel like we almost gauge severity on a scale that average Joe doesn't
  16. Fitting that France wins on July 4th - our oldest ally, and definitely an important part of our victory over the British. Plus - while most of the philosophical ideas of the founders (let's call it enlightenment-era liberalism) come from English tradition, plenty also come from the French (Montesquieu etc). And of course, a ton of what is now the US used to be part of France!
  17. I feel like every thunderstorm these days gets a warning. They should just call them thunderstorm warnings. I don't even pay attention to watches and warnings. They happen every time I hear thunder.
