  11. I had lots of rain and gusty winds. I hardly heard any thunder yesterday. Kind of disappointing. I love lightning.
  12. We have a winnah! Although I am also a Gen Z and Millenial playlist person, heavy on Playboi Carti and Ken Carson.
  13. Impressive, was that naturally?
  14. 3.57” final. Solid event!
  15. I got 2.05" here. Nice event.
  16. Today was the 22nd 100 degree or hotter day at the Norman Mesonet site. 2022 may have had more 100-degree days, but that's the only year I can think of that would have us beat in the past decade.
  17. Remember I'm a vegetable gardener. Most vegetable gardeners want to see enough rain for the gardens. Watering with the hose isn't as beneficial for the plants as rain is. You'll never get me to stop rooting for the rain this time of year, lol. Of course it's not that I want it every day. I want a lot of nice sunny 80 degree days for outdoor activities, but I also want the proper amount of rain for the vegetable garden. You don't want week after week of a bone dry ground during the summer -- that's not good for agriculture. I'm so glad things turned around in July after the extremely dry June that we had -- it has been very good for gardens. And because I'm a weather nut I also love t-storms. Lightning, wind and hail -- I love that stuff just like I love snow in the winter. So I root hard for t-storms to happen during the summer. Again though beautiful weather is great too. Monday and Tuesday are going to be 2 of the best days of the summer with 80 degrees and low humidity. Looking forward to that.

  19. 2.1” today. Had multiple trees down in the area blocking roadways probably from the waterlogged soil and the gusty winds as the storms moved out.
  20. 0.00 Still under 5 inches total since May 29th...
  21. I just drove home from filling in at work and felt the same. I had the windows down and sunroof open while playing my 70’s playlist. Manfred Mann’s “Blinded by the Light” is definitely a windows down tune.
  22. Today, I drove S to the fabulous Red Rocks Park/Ampitheatre and spent 2 hours there, another place almost beyond description. It was ~86 there and sunny/low RH. Next I went to Golden, which had similar wx to walk along Washington Ave and then Clear Creek watching the tubers/bathers enjoying the cold water. I ate at a delish W themed pizza joint. Late this afternoon I took I-70 through the Eisenhower Tunnel, where it dropped to 65, to Vail, where it was ~69. Vail is under extreme drought conditions.
  23. Recorded 2.87" at my station...most in over a year. Pretty close to what LGA recorded.
