E PA/NJ/DE Summer 2026 Obs/Discussion
Eskimo Joe replied to PhiEaglesfan712's topic in Philadelphia Region
This was.an interesting read and brings two questions to my mind. First, what AI are you using and did you air gap it? Have you found it difficult to maintain? Second, have you found anything significant with respect to short term snowfall forecasting? -
Posts this winter should be epic base on the ones posted this weekend! Looking forward to more meltdowns!

Augdewst 2026: Summer's Last Stand
radarman replied to Prismshine Productions's topic in New England
I'd take it over my current 109/59 with no rain for over 40 days -
No one should be saying definitely about anything related to the weather 4+ months out.

Heavy thunderstorms brought hourly rainfall of 1.25" at Newark and 1.44" at Bridgeport. Bridgeport saw 2.36" of rain through 5 pm with 2.34" falling in a two-hour period). That broke its daily mark of 1.69" from 1970. Tomorrow through Wednesday will be mostly sunny and pleasantly cool days. Highs will generally top out in the upper 70s. Showers and thundershowers could move through the region on Thursday. Temperatures will remain in the upper 70s and lower 80s into next weekend. No excessive heat appears likely through the remainder of August. The ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly was +4.0°C and the Region 3.4 anomaly was +2.7°C for the week centered around August 12. For the past six weeks, the ENSO Region 1+2 anomaly has averaged +3.80°C and the ENSO Region 3.4 anomaly has averaged +2.32°C. The ongoing strong El Niño, which has reached super El Niño threshold, will continue to strengthen through the summer. The SOI was -14.69 today. The preliminary Arctic Oscillation (AO) was +0.426 today. Based on sensitivity analysis applied to the latest guidance, there is an implied near 57% probability that New York City will have a cooler than normal August (1991-2020 normal). August will likely finish with a mean temperature near 75.9° (0.2° below normal). Supplemental Information: The projected mean would be 0.7° above the 1981-2010 normal monthly value.

College football has gone to hell. The NCAA is such a joke. The judges that are allowing this crap are also a joke. https://x.com/PeteThamel/status/2091630166225117535

Great product and great share! I am going to have to wade through all of that, but I generally understand 75% of the output - but not all. Meaning, I need to learn how to toggle all of that. We are missing snow data at TRI for several big winters unless that has been fixed recently...notably 95-96. Some of those missing data pieces include blizzards which have been scaled back to smaller events. It would be awesome to put @John1122 family's data into that algorithm of JW's. His family has the gold standard for private, uncorrupted, and ongoing wx obs for this forum. Even thought they don't match my region perfectly (he is further west and on the Plateau), I still trust his data above all others.

My location registered 1.69" from the event with 1.6" of it falling in the one hour time period between 0630 and 0730...what a deluge event.

This sort of thing only happens on a bad team, and this team is bad. Let some other less bad team sneak into the playoffs just to get quickly jettisoned.

Was at the stone tower winery today, and it was epic. Temps around 80 with dews in the upper 50s, cool NW breeze and bluest sky I’ve seen in months.

Drinking a Founders Dirty Bastard. Been awhile since I have had one of their bastard beers. As good as ever.

2 hits on the mark. Unparalleled consistency.

Easily the greenest my lawn has been in a very very long time. The garden has been thriving at least.
