  1. Past hour
  2. that you are, mine are two stories above a concrete patio, I'd need a pole 30 feet long, I'm not going up there on a ladder. It's doesn't really matter much in December or January, there is a big pine tree to my south and it's shadow crosses the array midday, but by early-mid February the sun is above the tree and sunny day production really takes off. Typical winter consumption for my family is about 19-20 kwh/day, summer it's 16-18/day if AC isn't needed. For heat, a typical 30F day the house uses ~10k BTUs/hr on average, on a 0F design day it's about 30k BTU. I'm curious what a water heat pump in that output range looks like from a cost and equipment footprint perspective, gas boilers don't last for ever.
  3. Fairly strong signal for a major system to impact the region around the St. Patrick’s day timeframe. @OrdIowPitMsp gets absolutely clobbered on the 12z GFS.
  4. a lot of rain coming in the next 20 days. Probably around 3-5 inches area wide!
  5. we can hope....april showers and all....we can use the rain though.
  6. I think April will be warm and dry, that's just my honest opinion, no scientific reasoning!
  7. Winter holding on for dear life. Still haven’t made it out of the 40s this week…maybe this evening
  8. it was in my 30's after 94 that i got my first snowblower....i was diagnosed in 1996 after a viral illness caught teaching summer school the summer before; it was hell; but even the snow blower is heavy and causes me issues, plus i still have to shovel areas between the cars and clean out the back porch for the dogs. but its ok, we love it. gotta pace myself, 63 years old.....it goes fast. and usually, i'm on the fringe with a lot of storms, but got hit with them this year. every year is different.
  9. Gotta think one of those systems between 3/13-3/18+ track favorably for SNE..a lot of storms are coming through the pipeline. CNE/NNE look best obviously, but I think we can score one in SNE.
  10. Ya, March is long, so one more good event would be perfect. Go out with a bang. And Let’s get some warm days next week before we go back the other way.
  11. Thanks for keeping it real and reasonable.
  12. That's some white on the rooftops that I haven't seen on this web cam much
  13. Just keep watching the sun icon go further and further away in the hourly forecast.
  14. More psychological nonsense…hilarious. From a poster who is here as much as anybody.
  15. 40s in the far southeast corner of MD and low 70s in far western Garrett County
  16. We were skiing this morning. Snow was great but the drizzle made the visibility awful despite frequently wiping the goggles.
  17. Might be some severe storms this evening around the area. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  18. So far under performing temp wise its 9C, sic at nox it was 7C not 13C! Getting the heavier rains and some thunder - steam whisping off the banks. TWN had a curr temp of 15C when I was really at 10C - disparity of uncouth proportions. Some flurries are possible tonight.
  19. Absolutely... It's cooler than the last few days but still nice and sunny at home in Waynesboro- mid 60s Just crossed Afton going to work in Charlottesville.. Mid to upper 50s and overcast...
  20. Today
  21. This 34° drizzle is pretty sweet.
  22. Hoping for that front to pass a bit faster…get it through by Wednesday night please.
  23. So have been waiting till my last day to post an observation of my week. Being inside and dealing with the gloom at least I am dry and warm. But I have been taking care of my friend’s horses all week. And as every person knows who takes care of animals on a farm this week was rough. On my final morning here is the conditions I have been working in since Monday. Have multiple times saved myself from whipping out. And have sunk in many times. My car is caked in mud and the smell of wet dirty horses will take sometime to get out of my clothes. I do though enjoy taking care of them. But a couple of days in between of some sun would have been better.
