Less time for it to go wrong....kind of like how storm chasers on the gulf coast would father a home-brew under pristine conditions than a CV long-tracker. Well…in leftovers I think he meant another Rainey weekend for SNE, and that would be par for this spring, summer and now fall. 1

BrianW
@tamarack Helped my wifes uncle close up their lake cabin this weekend near Morristown, NJ. Some impressive tree damage from that July 3rd storm with lots of local reports of 75 -80 mph winds. Almost all the damage was red oaks that split around 25-50 feet up. There is a lot of old growth trees and tons of 100+ year old giant Tulip Poplars that didnt even loose a branch.

Therefore, when those species have V-shaped forks, they're vulnerable to ice and/or wind. Another pure blue day after the frost. Colors are past peak, ash nearly bare, oaks mostly still green.

Don’t care about MEHSIS #3 NESIS March 1960...you won't find that kind of 20"+ coverage that often in SNE. 31" at ACK for their all-time. Explain that! https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/monitoring-content/snow-and-ice/rsi/nesis/19600302-19600305-8.77.jpg And as I mentioned, if snow measurements were consistent going way back, you;d be surprised at Miller A totals. esp. since their LEQ is usually higher. Recall many locations through the 1950s used to melt a snowfall down and then multiple by 10! As if all storms were 10:1? Given how ridiculously cold the Feb 1899 blizzard was, and the above? @CoastalWxneeds to adjust! And you exclude NNE and @dendrite. Very disappointing! Too much IMBY and relying on anecdotal snowstorm experience! Need to look outside the Weymouth/GHG/Brockton realm.

Yeah Miller A's almost never work out near 100%/max for the south shore. Also iirc 1996 was a wild OES/OEH setup for the south coast, the storm had long passed but it was still snowing 1-3" /hr from S. Wey to TAN to nearly EWB for much longer than everyone. Wasn't there some secondary development/ Miller B-ish? Caught the edge of that persistent banding in N Attleboro/Mansfield, 33" depth iirc. Maybe I'm not rememering that one correctly

I don't think there was a secondary.....that was pure Miller A, although def. could have been some OES assist...it was a really cold storm. DirtySnowDen
I don’t want to wade into the Canadian vs. USA maple syrup debate, but isn’t this week similar to a 6.9/7 for production (or reduction, as its Fall) ?
