dailylurker
Wow. Today looks like a fun weather day. There's a wall of water headed towards the area already this morning. There's not much lightning with it. Might be a fun batch to do a morning rain hike.

I'm hoping the convection stuff developing in front of it will become a fresh batch. Of course that won’t effect the deadlands where you live lol

Still in a severe drought. I am postponing overseeding till the middle of Sept., maybe by then we get some Nino connection. I work and therefore can not manually water the lawn. I hope we dont repeat last Sept., and October when soil moisture hit very low levels of near 17 %

Still a quarter to half inch in the forecast for tonight. Only meso model that has anything close to that is the latest run of the HRRR, which will be completely different in an hour. Can't wait for the atmospheric response to the Nino to fully kick in. Actually looking foreword to a dreary Fall with lots of rain lol.

October, November and December of 1965 experienced a strong Nino at +2.0 A severe drought was in progress. Dulles received a total of .46" during November of 65. December of 65 was worse at only .42"! The heavy snows of late Jan. 66 finally brought moisture.
