Have to head to the store later and grab a few things...definitely switching from shorts to jeans. going to suck

It’s not that bad out there…cool but bearable with shorts on(and I’m not a short wearer when it’s chilly either), I had no issues with shorts on.

last week I saw some guys roofing in the middle of the afternoon pretty sure it was the same day that guy was in your attic.. the hottest day of the few.. I couldn't believe it and was like no fooking way

Did that "attic-furnace" insulating in Fort Kent on the day (5/22/77) CAR hit 96, but I was young and foolish back then.  I'm no longer young.

When I worked with carpenters in NNJ, 1967-73, we generally stayed off roofing if the temp was much over 80, especially in full sun, unless the roof pitch was low enough for us to work from above.  Otherwise, we'd mess up the softened shingles already installed.

When I had a roof to do  with my grandfather we would always be done by late morning in the Summer.. like you said after a certain point you can't walk on it.. no idea what they were thinking

Rain is not expected to really pick up until this evening into tonight for parts of CT, SE MA, and RI when the low to the south of Long Island is expected to continue pushing
north. Up towards northern MA, rain may not start until around
midnight.

With the approaching low, a boundary will also push northward that will clash with high pressure, a PWAT plume with values up to (and even exceeding) 2.0", and a LLJ with winds around 30 kt at 925 mb.
This would be a main driver for widespread heavy rainfall along the
boundary, which guidance has still struggled to find a more concrete
solution to. Rainfall totals between 1-3" are still expected over much of southern New England, with lighter totals expected closer to
the NH border. Locally higher totals between 4-6" remain a
possibility over parts of CT, RI, and SE MA. Even with the spread in guidance regarding where these totals may be, a number of models still key in on those areas as having the highest risk for these totals. For these reasons, a Flood Watch remains in effect through tomorrow afternoon for our counties in northern CT into RI and SE MA to the Cape.

I always make sure to wear pants and a hoodie myself at the grocery stores this time of year. No matter what the conditions are outside, they always have the a/c on full blast. It’s no good for this lanky guy lol.

Looks like SECT will clean up this evening with heavier rates and have some flash flooding issues. Starting to get a good bit of ponding and runoff here but no torrential rain yet will help prevent any flash flooding. Although we are now up to 6” of rain on the month and 8” in 10 days so the ground can’t handle much more.
