Big Heat (and storms?) Week into July 4th Weekend

Under the stratiform rain coming off the cells in southern Fairfax and still get .2+ inch per hour rates.

FINALLY getting some rain out here near Gainesville.  First time it has been more than a few token drops all weekend.  Got 1 in and it is still falling hard.

At a time when most storms are ramping down, the cell near Manassas exploded, seemingly aided by a cell merger.  Major downburst signal.

I am right under the western side of that cell.  We have gotten about 2 in in under and hour and it is still coming down.

Just west of there, but yeah.  Hit 3 inches a few minutes ago and have had house shaking thunder for the better part of an hour.  I haven't seen anything like this in a LONG time.

Apparently there are water rescue calls starting to appear in Manassas.

Picked up 0.62 overnight on some heavy downpours event total so far is 1.10"

Missed close by a thunderstorm last night.  I got about a half inch, but the Mesonet two miles away got 1.33

Swing and miss lol. It took some luck to miss every single storm for the past 4 days. That was impressive. Hopefully this week continues to stay dry. I've got jobs to do.
