At least we've gotten a good amount of rain in July which knocked our area back down to a moderate drought after being in the severe drought. i was hoping for some heavy rain today though. This early round is mostly missing our area, but we'll have to see what the potential round for later tonight does. Maybe we'll get some decent rain from that one around 9 or 10pm.

I wouldn't let my guard down in Northeast NJ from Northern Middlesex through Union Essex Counties as of right now can hear thunder here in Northern most Middlesex county as a storm is developing in Plainfield area - should use a sensitive radar app that can zoom in and that updates every 5 minutes

Pretty wild up here with CTG lightening and booming thunder.  Day has become dusk and the temp is down to 65.  I've got speakers paired together all throughout the downstairs for the dog which is helping her today thankfully.

Already over 1/2 inch of rain and looks like we're not done with this round yet.

I don’t know about never-models were juiced 24-48 hours ago even here but yesterday the trend was obvious. The system became less progressive. Maybe we can salvage something with the coastal low development.

You’re still going to get a good soaking, just not the amounts further West.

I got the split in New Brunswick with storms to the N/W and now to the east. Happened yesterday too.

I see 18z HRRR hits our area pretty good around 10pm, but as you said who knows. The cell that popped up to the south that caused the current warning for Middlesex County will miss our area to the east. We might get through the afternoon with almost nothing here, but hopefully later tonight will deliver.

I had over 2” of rain yesterday in 45 minutes and my office 10 miles away had nothing. This is what happens in these events. It doesn’t mean the storm busted.
