CarlislePaWx
At 3:30pm here in Carlisle...the temperature is 99.1 degrees. This is the high for the day thus far, and also the high for the year-to-date. The dew point is 77.6 degrees. Combined this produces a heat index of 117.7 degrees F. Skies continue to be mostly sunny. I am revising my opinion from 3 hours ago concerning the probability of hitting 100 degrees. I would now say that there is a 90% chance I will hit 100 degrees and maybe go on to hit 101, which is the NWS forecast for me for today. Tomorrow marks the 6th anniversary of the closing on my home. I don't know where the years are all going. We're precisely halfway through this year! I'll be back with another update when I have officially reached 100 degrees. By the way, my high temp for last year was precisely 100.0 degrees, but with lower dew points. >>>Edit...I'm a day early with my NWS 101 forecast. As of this morning the high for today was forecast to be 98 degrees. Then 101 tomorrow and 102 degrees Friday, July 3rd. 3

CarlislePaWx
Here in Carlisle at 4:30pm...the temperature has cracked the century mark, no sitting at 100.4 degrees. The dew point is 78.4 degrees while the heat index is a potentially deadly 119.5 degrees. This is the hottest temperature in more than 2 years. What else can I say? I'll be back with another update probably in an hour.

I understand that we're all different and all like/enjoy different things. I really do. My "thing" about this...when it's cold, you have more options. Stay inside if you want to be warm. Need to go out? Bundle up for warmth and protection. But with this weather? What are we supposed to do when we have to be outside? There are no good remedies. The only option is to suffer. 1

Yardstickgozinya
I think it hit exactly 100°F here in Mechanicsburg, but i'm not sure. I'm getting through it alright. I'm drenched in sweat, but i've been keeping up on my electrolytes, and using my backpack blower to fan myself off at times. Looking forward to jumping in the pool for the first time this summer when I get home around nine o'clock.

CarlislePaWx
Here in Carlisle at 7:00pm...the current temperature is 94.8 degrees. The dew point is 74.5 degrees giving a heat index of 106.2 degrees. The lower dew point of roughly 5 degrees from the earlier reading of 80 degrees has also helped lower the heat index by roughly 13 degrees. It is still ridiculously hot given it's 7:00pm and the temperature is only down to 95. In my previous post I said that I had reached a high of 100.4 degrees. That actually turned out to be the high for today. I might have to wait until midnight before walking my dog. Maybe the temp will be down to 83 degrees?

pawatch Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM I hit 100 today, the DP was 86.4 Was an insider most of the day. When your 70 not to many outdoor activities you want to do in 100 degree weather. I was looking at the record highs and a lot of them was set in 1931.

I took a vacation day because the Union Pacific Big Boy is coming through Tamaqua today. I live so close to the tracks that it's practically going through my backyard. I could sit on my back patio and watch it go by, but it's doing a 15 minute photo stop at the train station, so I'll be walking down there to see it, and hopefully get some good pics and video.
