You realize you just doomed the entire winter by saying this ... right?

unreal

Okay everybody ... start a thread so we can keep track of every Angus event through next spring -

Going snowblower shopping this weekend!

Someone needs to keep those companies afloat.

Oh and I am surely going to grab a new snowblower and likely getting another snowmobile.  this the kind of winter I stare out the window and sigh every day with eyes welling up watching it rain

Ehhhhhh...

Can see occasional cold shots but they will be shallow and fleeting at best. Everyone in a +2.5-+4 winter

That's +PNA/-NAO...don't mistake the blue shading out west in association with an immense PAC jet as RNA....look at the height lines..see how they have a gentle WNW - ESE slope? That is a subtle +PNA.

Looking at the orientation of the vortex up north and the slope of the height field out west, I would be willing to hedge "white over wet", especially for the interior, in this map VERBATIM. IMHO, while it isn't a cold pattern with that raging PAC jet, what cold is available would be streamlined into our quadrant of the country. Like Will said, if that GOA low ever found it's way 1000 miles west, then the sky would be the limit...but I don't anticipate that.

Has December near normal surprisingly. Is it a bit too cold? Probably....likely underdoing the magnitude and arial extent of that Canadian ridge, but I don't think this will be a bottom-dweller season in terms of snowfall.

I've said that one way to cheat our way into a good winter is to get something like Dec 1997 pattern (pretty close to normal temps that month) but instead of Feb 1998, we get a more classic Nino Feb.
