Oh This Winter is F- now.

This Storm has done the Impossible.

1. Giving me LESS than the SWFE I missed.

2. YET, is giving 24-36 INSIDE the smallest state in the Union which I’m in, where people are talking like it’s the Biggest and Baddest Storm since the Blizzard of 1978.  And I STILL Missed it.  I truly might not even get 20”.

That, THAT is More Impressive than my 3 World Championships.

If you don't end up at around 24" then it's only because you don't have a good spot to measure.  Your location wasn't in the middle of the death band but you have several consecutive hours of 30 dbz stuff on radar, and some parts of the heavy band made it your way.  I've got two personal reports of around 2 feet in Cumberland area from friends.  Plus we have the reports from Attelboro, and I have a friend in Smithfield reporting two feet to the west of you.  There was no prolific snow hole over your house.  Even if we knock a few inches off due to drifting, there's a good chance that this number verifies.

It's seriously time to relax now and enjoy what you got.  We already have enough things giving RI a bad name, and your whining on this thread is insufferable.  You don't know how many times I've had friends in the northern and western parts of the state with significantly more snow than my own backyard.  There's 50,000 people with no power in the state, that may not get it back for a couple of days, and you're complaining you didn't get 40" on top of your fake fucking mountain.  Seriously, get a hold of yourself, and at least melt with some world championship worthy dignity.

A bit of a naive question, but if PVD doesn’t hit the record at 1pm, what’s stopping them from hitting it at 7pm? Is it a 24 hour snow record?

Nothing is stopping them. I believe it is a storm total record not just a 24 hour record. I'm just doubtful that it happens because they would have to get another foot of snow after 7am this morning. I suppose it's possible.

You are being willfully miserable.

Neon!  Come Here and Measure!  I walked around other neighborhoods too!  It’s Fine. It’s an ok storm.  There are No 15” Measurements, and they have 26-30 JUST south of me.

That is MORE Willfully Miserable.   This is the Biggest Storm in RI since 1978 and it’s Whatever here in far northern RI.  Worse For Boston though so.

Providence is up to 33" of snow OTG, but there was 5" before the storm.

This may make it number 1 all time.  I believe 1978 was around 27.

Were they world championships for whining? Imagine bitching about 20".

Every storm he complains and whines when he doesnt jackpot, or do as well as his neighbors. Doesnt matter if its 18" or 40"

Imagine being near 60" before March 1 and saying its an F winter with near continuous snowpack.

That's a legendary record falling as we speak.

I have strong suspicion that they might as this point, they've been sitting under that band for at least a couple hours since the last observation plus it seems there is a bit of a westward expansion/extension right around PVD's latitude. Then you have all of the backside deformation/etc. to go as the storm continues lifting NE.

I mean they reported 33 inches on the ground (+28 change) last hour. I don't see how they haven't recorded over 29" of snow for this event. The 1978 is "only" 28.6".

There.  Are.  No.  Spots.  Over.  12”.

I just walked to Other Neighborhoods JUST to Silence people like You telling me I don’t know how to measure and that I’m whining.  I stayed up till 4am measuring.  We had 3”.

I measured 24” in 2015.  28” in 2013.  21” in PDII.  24” in 1996.  27” in 2005.  17.5” in 2019.

I know how to measure Big Storms Thank You.  I’ve had the worst winter of my life and more this and you WANT ME to ENJOY?

Probably about a 33" snowfall accounting for compaction.

Got it, that’s what I figured, but the local news has been playing up this 1pm measurement. Didn’t know if there was something particularly special about it. Thanks!

Latest observation is just insane for an official site as well.

So it was a nice storm. Thought I'd wake up to a bit more, but I think we'll end up about 12 to 13 here. That's about it but nothing to shake a stick at. I know there's a bunch of people out in Massachusetts and Rhode Island that have crushed it, and I know they have been due. Still seems like there's more winter on the table. Enjoy the snowfall

Yup, about the same here too. Too bad we couldn’t get into the real heavy banding…cuz it would have made it epic. Ahh well…maybe next time/year.

Looks like record snow depth is 30" in 1961. Of course, the official measurement won't be until 7 am tomorrow, but you've got to imagine it won't compact enough to drop below 30" - especially since it's still snowing very hard and likely to climb even higher.

You could relocate him to Truckee and he'd be like, "Oh, my house isn't completely buried. F!"

Cory, I'm as frustrated as anyone, but at the end of the day, you have to have a modicum of insight and recognize how insufferable you are...you know it's bad coming from me, one of the staunchest IMBY weenies there is.

Clearly you have angered the snow gods with your accordion playing debauchery and they have blown your snow to the far ends of Manville and Albion.  You must sacrifice a virgin Victoria and repent to please the gods and fill in your snow hole.
