so depressing to see nyc/phil/boston get so much snow while we are stuck with this crap.

I'd much rather they get it than places like NC, or like last year, New Orleans and we get nothing.  That hurts on a whole different level.

Well...I had snow joy for about 30 mins this evening. Drove down beautiful Charles Street with all trees, grass, and even some pavement covered while listening to Moses Hogan arrangements (iykyk). Beautiful drive...

.....Then I came on here and was reminded of what we're missing, lol

so log off and go do something else, like you said you were going to do hours ago.

I should be complaining here instead, so I will. Yes, storm is not over, but I was under a winter storm warning that began at 3pm and have wet pavement so far. It goes to show, some types of systems still expose modeling errors.

I really thought for sure we would get at least 1" on the roads or so....roads and pavement are totally clear in my neck of baltimore city - 9pm

Same. I am skeptical we get much measurable stuff period, pavement or not.

I for one am happy to see the benchmark storm track alive and well. And it snowed and everything is white imby. No, we didn’t jack, but we can’t jack them all. We’ll definitely get ours sooner or later, I’m sure of it.

And this nor’easter… ain’t she a beaut?! Gotta appreciate the raw power of this storm as a meteorologist.

I’ve posted a bit on this but man what a great synoptic system. Literally would be an example in my weather and atmosphere class at uva of how the jet influences H5 levels which influence 850 down lift and cyclogenesis.

I'd settle for just not jacking... that blue area's a good bit worse than not jacking unfortunately, especially with UHI. It is beautiful though. Bittersweet. Says a lot about the Mid Atlantic for that beauty to end up the way it does in some of our locales.

Off topic, just heard from my elderly dad who was diagnosed with flu + strep on Wed and has been miserable. It's been a little scary for me. This morning he crossed the "wanting coffee again" threshold and just now managed to eat something. I'm so glad. Now I can fully weenie out watching whatever this storm is unfold. I don't want to be that annoying sanctimonious person...snow is life, I'm a massive weenie...but it is also just snow.

Wishing him a speedy and complete recovery!

What in Gods Green Earth is a Norlun?

Mythical apparition that the desperate beleive will appear in the atmosphere above them to deliver them snow when the actual storm is 100 miles east.  Some think it may be a relative of Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny.

Given the many suggestions I've received to ignore you like an angry gnat, clearly you have nothing in your life outside making irrational ad hominem attacks against internet strangers. And given that this means you have no one in your life--because why else would someone behave this way, and who would want to associate with someone who provides zero value in any situation whatsoever--I'm completely satisfied.

Oh and look. It's still snowing. You have a good one now!

bless your heart
