JakkelWx
came back from the grocery store. man was it packed. every checkout lane was open though so it was pretty efficient. Stocked up on beef stew meat/potatoes, some sardines and salmon and eggs.
Maestrobjwa
2 hours ago, Scarlet Pimpernel said: Yup, exactly. We're not getting the crazy totals here in the DMV. I don't get the "disappointment" from some at models consistently showing around 6" or even a bit more around here, just because PHL-BOS might get 2 feet. Who cares, as long as we can do well, at least that's my feeling. My issue with the models showing 6" is that you know because of marginal temps it's gonna be less than that due to low rates...and we wake up looking a sloppy 3" of snow Monday morning. So it's basically WWA except for Mt. Psu. Not exactly a great consolation prize. See even though I know it's climo and par for the course, it still sucks seeing them get their HECS while we are likely to go another year without one. It'll be 11 years next year. If we hadn't gone so long it wouldn't suck as much.

mappy
So the pool cover was about to tear. Managed to break thru top layer of ice to get a pump in there to remove some water, but the water under the cover that was left in the pool is frozen solid. Soooo we might lose the pool cover if it snows too much
CAPE
Blizzard warning and I will see little to none of it actually happen at home. Heading to Easton tomorrow afternoon to stay at the School dorm(actually a hotel). I'll eat dinner at the Dining hall there, then hang out at the bar there, and watch it snow. Teaching all day Monday. Why couldn't this have happened on the weekend or last week when there were no classes.
mattie g
I’m less concerned about flying out on Monday morning due to snow than I am with wind. Ugh…
CAPE
Same thing happened for the second storm in Feb 2010. That was an all out blizzard. Went home the next day to see the aftermath and dig my way into the house lol

Cars still buried from the storm a few days earlier, almost seemingly groaning under the weight of yet MORE snow. And those snowflakes were like parachutes, plus temperatures were in the 20s with screaming winds.

They will all arrive today or tomorrow morning. Can't have students sitting in class with no instructor, so I have to get there. Not doing it early Monday morning with heavy snow and wind. TSSN+
Getting word they sending me home this evening. Thank goodness. But the communication in this hospital is awful. They told me a GI doc was going to come see me yesterday and they never did, then said today and they never did. Only one doctor stopped by this afternoon and didn’t give me much of a game plan. But nurse came in and said sounds like your going home. I’m like ok??? What’s the game plan here people. lol 1
