This will not have the resiliency of the Jan 25-26 snow.

No sleet embedded like many had from January, and temps will be warmer, and definitely a stronger sun now than a month ago.

Wish I had a yard stick this time.  Easily over 2 feet if not just at 2 feet.  My dog was leaping up just to move around.  But I hope we never have another wet snow blizzard for another decade.  F that.  Like concrete tryongbtoove it around.

I still don't think its that strong.  I've been tossing the CFS/Euro on ENSO predictions for a few years now.  They've generally been overdone.

In general any El Nino, especially in today's climate of over 1.5 is going to be a fairly mild winter nationwide.   Even 09-10 was not all that cold, it was just narrowly cold enough to snow.

Still haven't seen a plow on my street since sometime overnight...still impassable for the most part.

Over 40 inches for the first time in nearly 10 years.  Alot of winter outlooks didn't have a good winter for our area. 

The disruption to the PV in November changed everything.

I'd much rather have a +PDO than an el nino, like 2014-15.

We got a lot of snow in 2009-10, but that winter was short. The spring of 2010 might be one of the most amazing pattern flips ever. It turned warm in March and got to 90 during the first week of April.

Yeah I'll take my chances with a La Nina rather than an El Nino. As I said I like that it gives us a good chance for winter to get off to an early start with cold and snow in December.

You sometimes get criticized for being so optimistic all the time, but your optimism certainly worked out this winter. A great job by you.

Does anyone have a reliable radar loop of the entire storm? I find the COD radars show differing echos for Western Long Island when using the DIX versus OKX radars. They are usually reliable but were not so accurate this morning when showing decent echos but little snow failing at those times. 

 

Would be interested in an loop of the entire NYC metro to explain the North Shore Long Island amounts being 5-10 inches lower than the rest of the Island.

I knew this winter was going to be good when the warmth kept getting pushed back .

I do think March starts out cold with a PV disruption but winter should end quickly in March.

School staff and parents are pissed that the mayor is opening schools tomorrow. Many put out a petition for people to sign.  Even some members of the NYC council sent letters to the Mayors office to tell him to close the schools.

My wife also just told me that alot of teachers called out where she works.

La ninas can be warm in February, too. Just look at February 2012, 2017, 2018, and 2023.

Negative NAO helped us big time this winter.
