Where is the low now? Because to my untrained eye, and lack of knowledge, it looks like a lot is racing due ENE and not NE

Holy shit this thread got depressing. We are still on track for double digit snowfall. White rain was expected early on. Everything is currently on track.

This happens every-time. I wasn't expecting to even see steady snowflakes until 2-3 PM. Been going since 10 AM. (Albeit white rain)

because some of the 12Z guidance got depressing - I don't think some models have a handle on this anymore

If you get depressed by a snowfall algorithm you shouldnt be here. I mean that sincerely.

Miller A doing Miller A things.  Nobody told this storm it wasn’t to go east.  The biggest storms and biggest busts tend to be Miller As.  Do not sleep on the east trend.  Nor should you discount banding.  Or subsidence.  Surprises with these abound.  Nothing to be done except watch the cinema and dig or sweep whatever you get.

Unfortunately these storms due to tend to tick east at the last second. I guess NJ coast and LI due for a biggie. Still a nice storm for all though and hopefully some banding to the NW.

Except for when they tick west at the last second.  You get an uncomfortable feeling remembering 2015, I get one remembering 2010 and 2016.

Maybe. You and I could wind up lower end.  The rain isn’t the issue for us.
