Anybody with half a brain understands what's going on. It's the way some of the posts are said. It's like trying to corral children who are upset that they don't have their favorite toy. So instead they have a tantrum. So it has nothing to do with not understanding where we're heading. Of course their seasons were going to change to spring. It's going to get warm. But they're still going to be things that are winter related.... And still the chance of some major storms that are winter related. And yes, we're going to see rain too ( we've been lucky there's been no cutters in between these cold spells to begin with )

In a few more weeks the little gypsy caterpillar will hatch from his egg sac and find its first leaf to munch on.

He will go from not being able to envision temps warming up to not being able to envision temps getting cold again.

But that doesn’t mean it has ti happen. BDL is having a top 15 coldest winter in history. That didn’t have to happen either .

If there’s no chance of snow by Morch 1 on I will be ready to flip to summer mode .  It makes it much easier psychologically with no snow pack. The pack loss is a huge mental issue for most on here

That’s just climo. There’s some Febs with 0 and some with 10. But we’re just saying what the modeling shows. It’s not a forecast based on climo.

It’s some 40s and maybe (maybe not) a warmer one mixed in. It’ll be okay. It probably turns colder again toward the end of the month. Maybe not 10 days of -10 anomalies, but cold enough to snow.

At this point it’s time to transition to events happening vs a slowly dying pack.

The second half of this month is going to be quite interesting. The pattern is going to become much more active, in fact, it's already making strides in that direction. Details TBD and folks can muster that up to fit their backyard mold but it certainly will not be a dull second half of the month

A few warmer days are going to be welcome. I’m probably one of the bigger cold lovers on here and even I’m sick of these Arctic mornings.

One thing that has been unique about this winter is, we haven’t had any of those SWFE systems that drop 4 to 6 inches and then turn to rain.
I don’t really miss those because they are a huge pain in the ass, but perhaps the Monday system ends up being something like that?

Down here it doesn't make much sense to get too wrapped up in pack.  That's why my focus turns to big game hunting.  Can we get March of 93 but track it over the BM?....is that unreasonable?

There’s probably a parallel universe where we’re bitching about the cold and lack of snow right now. Given the consistency of the deep BN days, we’re kind of lucky to have gotten the snow we got…SWFE on roids, some inv troughs that overperformed, some light clippers that overperformed.
