this was my snowmap from yesterday I think Mahopac to Candlewood lake could get from 20-26

Edit: I was conservative towards Albany to Boston!

Still stuck at 20. I wonder if its better to do one more shovel now or let it sit so the freezing rain has something to sit on?

I don’t even know how to measure this because of the drifts but gotta be closing in on a foot and a half up here in Westchester. A crazy amount of snow and now sleet. It’s been many years.

Been sleeting since 1pm after 9" of snow. I can't believe it's still 14F, much colder than any forecast but that's par for the course with these setups. 

Hopefully no ZR though.

It’s not, it’s based on distance from the radar site-radar beam elevation. Way out east it’s showing that once the radar beam reaches probably 6000 feet or so it’s picking up a mix. I don’t have the tool to show the radar beam elevation so far from the radar site but it must be about 6000 feet or so. In N NJ it’s closer to the radar site and the radar beam is at a lower elevation which is how it picks it up.

I'm in Mahopac and getting really close to that 20. If the taint line stays in lower Westchester I'll go over.

HRRR has me getting to 32 at 11 pm...but it also has me at 23.5 at 6 pm and i am at 20.5. Will be interesting to see how warm we get.

If it's within 50 miles it wont show up.

I doubt highly we make it to freezing. Maybe upper 20s. But looking likely we get a glaze overnight on top, probably when the main slug of precip moves out.

looks like a lull but there's more over Allentown PA area moving ENE

Radar looks plenty juiced to me. That dry slot is over Southern PA and might not even make it that far North. The HRRR has a very brief dry slot before another band comes through overnight.
