OBS: 1/25-26 Snow/Sleet

It’s snowing hard, the drive home from Yonkers wasn’t great but wasn’t bad. Accident by the Palisades Mall. Over 1” so far

Its finally snowing and doesnt have a hard time sticking. Haven't seen snow with temps in the teens in a long time.

Already nearly 3 inches in Toms River (inland, near Manchester) @18f / 16. Very, very tiny flakes but super steady.

The city had to be close but I was 20-22f overnight during 1/29/22. 6am was a snow globe at 22.

Better take the GSP and not the palisades home lol. They suck plowing the palisades.

On the HRRR initialization the sleet line is way north more than what's indicated on radar.

You'd have to check the soundings but the sleet line's coming north pretty steadily. Gets held up here and there but no major issue I can see vs guidance. We have until 2-3pm to really clean up (around the city), maybe 4pm for Suffolk County. 

New incoming 12z HRRR gets sleet into the city/I-80 around 3pm and east from there to most of Suffolk by 4pm but it fights back and forth for the northern part of the city and LI for a time. Hopefully those fights back and forth can buy us another inch or so. At the end of the event there should be some freezing drizzle in the dryslot before it all freezes up. This will be really bad to try moving. Might be a good idea to shovel right before or as it changes to sleet.
