Temp went from 23 to 34 in 30 minutes in fuquay Varina. Wow

Jumped from 21.5 up to 25.6 in Chapel Hill. Started out with moderate to heavy sleet, but now all zr. Nowhere near the 31 WRAL predicted for me, though.

Things have wrapped up in Belmont. Measured 1.2" sleet/snow and 0.18" ice accretion (basically exclusive (0.15") from the final band that passed through). There could have been more sleet fall since compaction of course happened, but that was the measurement as of right now.

Temperature is up to 30. Can surprisingly hear slight dripping from gutters/trees.

Y’all, now that the majority of this forum escaped catastrophic ice, I can say that was a damn fun storm!

Always enjoy a good sleet bomb. That one was real close to peeling off like 6 inches here as well, just set up a shade too far north unfortunately.

Trees down, no power to almost 60% of Rabun County, GA, what an amazing storm to track!  Thank you to all who answered, explained patiently, discussed and was with me on this incredible ride.  Now into the next!

Well that's a wrap - I haven't measured but looks like almost 2 inches of sleet with a glaze on top.  Thanks everyone it was wild ride with this truly massive storm.  Thankful that the ice storm did not pan out where i live.  

I love this group  When the weather gets serious we show up here!   Still wish we could see some snow!!

WRAL busted hard in this event. They definitely pretty much took the Euro's ice totals verbatim when they initially called for up to an inch of ice. They are a shell of their former selves.
