Really enjoyed tonight's Profs and Pints: What We Know About Snow presentation tonight in Baltimore with Jeff Halverson of CWG. It's mostly basic-level discussion but still fascinating and highly recommended for fellow snow-lovers/weather-nerds.

Nice! Love this vintage snow pic, and others like it. These girls look like real snow weenies, they have that crazed look of joy :D

Philly Eagles interviewing Todd Monken for possible OC job. You Ravens folks, what are your thoughts.on him when he was in Baltimore? Im not very familiar tbh

Head to the Ben Franklin bridge pronto is all i can say. He will probably leave Saquon on the bench for every 4th quarter for the rest of his career. Good luck.

I had an early appointment in Columbia and a midday one in Ellicott City, so dropped by Centennial Lake with my camera to see what might be around. As soon as I got out of the truck, this beauty was just sitting on a nearby post.

I gave him some space and walked around him to get a better shot with the sun behind me.

Also saw huge numbers of resting geese, cool ducks, and two different herons.

And finally, just as I was getting back to my truck, this flew over. Not great photos because I was so surprised and not too smart, so I didn’t speed up the shutter.

Nice shots! There’s been a blue snow goose hanging around Centennial intermittently the last couple weeks. Need to unleash a wolf pack to clear out those Canada geese.

Is there a difference between what I’ve heard of, the snow goose, and a blue snow goose?  Also, do snow geese still flock to the eastern shore in the winter? I remember seeing tons of them in the past.

Finally, I also remember a time in the 70’a when the Canadian goose was not allowed to be hunted in Maryland because of low numbers. That seems crazy to even think about now.

So sorry about that, man...

It’s ok. It’s not new. She left 4 years ago. I should be over it by now.

ETA: ok that sounded pathetic. Most days aren’t so bad. But that reference brought up some really good memories which are bittersweet now.

Dude.  So sorry to hear.  I've gone through some tough breakups but never with children.  I can only imagine the extra weight of dealing with that on top of everything else.  Hopefully, things will continue improving for you.

Oh yeah I know--just reiterating support :) And hey...no such thing as "should". While I can't speak to what you've gone through, I do know that deep wounds can still hurt from time to time even a few years later--and that's okay! I think over time we just become better equipped to handle it.

I appreciate it. Really. Yea the situation is probably making it harder. I see her 3 or 4 times a week. Exchanges or things we do together for the kids. I kept the house because the kids love it here. We do things that she used to be a part of. Camping trips. Ski trips. The beach. It’s hard to move on from something when you’re surrounded by it.  It also doesn’t help that she is an amazing mom and wonderful person. So it’s not like I can hate her.

Thanks. Yea I’ve given up on waiting for it to get any easier. Just had to learn to cope with what it is.

It’s not as bad as this is probably making it sound. Most of the time I’m fine. I’m not miserable all the time or anything. But that memory hit me. Had a rough moment I guess.

Snow goose and blue goose once were considered separate species, but I think genetic studies showed blue goose is just a snow goose color morph. Yes, snow geese still winter on the eastern shore and near the coast.
