Oddly enough snow growth based on ASOS reports relative to radar echoes and ground reports seems good.  You would not think thats the case given the area went over to sleet for a time though.

Are you insane? 5 inches already in Stony Brook. It's still snowing with heavier bands that will develop overnight. 8 to 10 inches is very possible

Heavier bands aren’t a guarantee. They were throwing around 10-11” around like it was going to be common in all of Suffolk
