12/2 Cold Rain and High Elevation Snow

no real warm up for me as of yet. been hovering just below freezing for a while now. 30/25, wet bulb 28

23.7 degrees here in Centreville.  Colder than I expected.  I wish the precip would get here sooner.

Sitting at 29.1/25.0 at 12:45 am. Precip isn't too far off per radar. Checking a bit south nothing reported at Blacksburg at 34/24 although radar has shown precip for last 30 minutes there.

And it has started here, as freezing rain and sleet..... oh well. Currently 29.5/25.3. Off for a nap.

It is pretty wild how big the city impact is on temps. I live 9 miles south of my parents, but I’m in Baltimore City and they’re just over the County line. It’s 37 degrees here and 31 degrees there.

The Nam 6hrs before the event, has folded lol. Looks like hrrr now, northern crew should get their 2”+ hopefully.

I assumed those heavy echoes were sleet but expected that to change once further north. We'll see.

Well, that warm nose didn't take long at all.  To be expected I guess.  100% sleet currently.

Just saw your post. There is some sleet but snow too. Hrrr showed initial precip as rain, then to snow. I guess it'll switch over once all layers cool. But who knows. Lol

I cant see my ring camera I the dark, but I can hear water going down the gutters.  PWS says 32F.  It sounds like plain cold rain in Stephens city.

All snow now.

Earlier runs of the Hrrr showed the warm, dry layer to start that would cool and moisten after the start of precip. We're on track.
