Been steadily snowing all morning in Madison but rates and flake sizes have been fairly run-of-the-mill. Hoping one of those heaver bands can make its way up here.

Yeah we’re about to get a couple hours of good rates, a lull, and then the real show begins.

We are just started and this surpasses anything I remember last Christmas. Another 1.5 inches (up to around 3ish depending on where I measure) for a total of 3.5ish.

And this thing still has 6+ hours to it at least in N IL.

Snow accumulation has been slow for much of the morning due to light rates and poor flake quality.  The best snow is just now getting in here ahead of the low.  Reports around CR/IC say about 7", which is probably what I have so far.  I had 5.7" a couple+ hours ago.

That was my issue through the morning. Very poor flake quality. Like pixie dust. Finally getting quality snow now. Thinking I may be on lower end of what was forecasted here though. Kind of feel like precip may move out sooner than forecasted.

Just measured 7.1" in my yard.  The heavier snow ahead of the low has moved in.  The flakes are still small, but they are dense.
