Y'all the GFS does this every year.

If a wave can make it to the Caribbean then we can talk. Despite incredibly favorable conditions for much of the season, the Caribbean has been devoid of meaningful activity.

GFS and the Euro now have something late month

NOAA has a Pacific Ocean heat "blob" Blobtracker Web site. It tracks large areas of heat under the ocean's surface. These areas can affect weather "thousands of miles away." Right now, there is a very large blob of heat stretching from Alaska to California. I found the whole thing...fascinating.

Link is the article, NOAA Blobtracker link below:

Euro also has something coming up.. atleast the pattern isn't as bad for this one

It's fun to have at least something to watch... but I'm more interested in the pattern after this time frame. Gut says the first cold push is waiting in the wings. I really need to finish my re-insulation prOject at the house!

Wait what are we tracking? Oh I see, tropical at hour 280 something with snow at the end potential. Be nice to get some snow in the high places before November 1st but please not here, still bike season, early snow is bad juju.  Looks pretty nice the next few days until a little bit of rain Sunday night.

Had snow OTG in 2011 but it was in low 40’s and melting . Have never had it snow on that day . For whatever reason that first 8-9 day period of Nov in history almost always is mild . So it’s a very low chance. But if I look at progs this year.. can see how it’s not a zero chance . Normally it is

Your B-Day in 2002 was memorable here, though with only a trace of snow on the ground.  It was the first day of Maine's firearm deer season and at dawn it was 14° with gusts 30+.  That would be ho-hum in January but was quite chilly in mid Autumn.  (Punched my ticket with a nice critter the day after T-Day.)
