I see that same weenie map every season. Worst of winter is right. 33 degrees and rain lol

Wow the Polar vortex is going to descend from the stratosphere and take up residence over the northern Plains.

I’m in Colorado for another hiking trip and was lucky enough to get a tour of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) today in Boulder. And then this evening there was a climate talk at a local brewery. Cool stuff.

Also wondering if any Penn State alums know this meteorologist. Kyle Nardi.

I don’t know anything about Direct Weather but since they are predicting a weenie winter, I’ll also put this in banter.

If you go to their channel I think this is the only map they have and just yearly repost lol.

Out in Canaan Valley this week Perseid hunting. Haven't seen any Perseid's this year but some absolutely fantastic storms came through last night beginning around 1AM. Very electrical w/ pouring rain, little to no wind. Perfect for enjoying on the porch! Looking forward to more later today.

If I'm Rubenstein,  Elias is gone at the end of the season.

And the entire coaching staff  is gone too. The young core pretty much all went backwards this year.

Yeah I have concerns about Elias still being here when the new manager is selected--and don't trust him in letting the manager hire his own staff. Everybody but maybe Britton and the other guy (I think his name is Mayer?) has got to go. And you know...Drew French is not a terrible pitching coach either, imo

And also...how about Brandon Frickin' Young with 7.2 perfect innings??? (Darn you Urias--I KNEW that was gonna haopen just as a poke in the eye to Elias who should've kept him, lol). Baseball is a funny game! That was really something! What a way to get your first big league win, lol

Beavers called up for today’s game.

This is what drives me nuts about Elias. He held off calling him up just for the remote possibility of him appearing on 2 out of the 3 top 100 prospect lists before next year's season and then  he goes on to win the rookie of the year award for an extra draft pick at the end of round 1 in 2027.

Seems far fetched.

He gets more enjoyment out of building an elite farm system rather than having an elite major league roster.

Oh my gosh y'all he's up here now dang let's just enjoy it

P.S. My theory is Elias just likes his young talent in general and would rather win a championship that way than quality FA signings. But it just doesn't work that way and that's the flaw in his philosophy. And IF he gets another chance (I'd rather they move on) he'd better change that or he out!

You win championships doing it both ways that compliment each other.

All teams that are continuously good do it this way.

Except for the rays.

Some how they trade there best players and still are a perennial post season team most years.

Comment on Waze that the backup is due to rubbernecking.  Yeah, that tracks.

Confirmed. We’re passing it now. Accident in the southbound express.

The Orioles went an impressive 0/14 with RISP tonight. I am genuinely impressed with that kind of futility.

In other news, Ravens looked pretty good with the back ups tonight. Ran 79 plays to Dallas 49. Pretty much dominated for 98% of that contest. Come on September!
