Well it’s your fault for believing it lol. You also thought all the heat would stay SW of us and that Julorch wouldn’t be in top 5 hottest

who believed it?   If you think I actually believed that you got issues   and how many times did I say I got that one wrong?  and top 5?

Regarding Kevin’s flies…were they typical houseflies?
Back before we bought our house we lived in an apartment in an old house in Gardner for a few years. Each summer there was a hatch of something called cluster flies in the upstairs (unoccupied) level of that apartment.  Hundreds of them. But they were different than houseflies.

Little Phish reference there.:guitar:

If you are throwing meat or wrappers that had meat in them.. put that outside in the bin . Don’t ever leave inside. Ours I can quite figure out. This is the 2nd time in two weeks . Tonight was awful. Three of us with fly swatters, paper towels and Windex to clean the windows

I had the swarm yesterday and the day before.  Whenever the outdoor temps go over 85-88, they seem to appear.  I killed 52, and went through a bottle of Windex cleaning the windows.  Got this "outdoor" trap at the hardware store yesterday for $9 and set it up in parlor under a lamp, overnight.  By this morning, I had over 40 flies in it, and none flying around.

I’ve used that for years now, very effective as I catch thousands. Mine is hanging from a tree branch away from the house a bit. That said, emptying that when filled isn’t for the weak stomachs, it’s quite a stench but again very effective..

I would have lost it. Not squeamish about bugs but man do I hate flies.

I wonder what causes it. It seems to happen to a lot of people on the same days. This was the 2nd time in a couple weeks.

On another note.. dude you get hit with another Tor yesterday?

I don't know about the flies. Seems to be heat related for me.  My closest neighbor is a dairy farm about a half mile away and the stench of the silage has been overwhelming in 90 degree heat, too.

I'm not in Roxbury- I'm just next door in Woodbury/Bethlehem.  But I watched that cell from my hill, passing just south of me.  The cloud to ground lightning was severe.

Let’s sit back and reflect on the month we had. What a month. Lots of people happy all around with summer activities and making memories. You feel for those locked up and looking at Moregarbage tweets.

7th warmest of 28 Julys here, AN but nothing special (other than low precip).

Actually having a bit of RA, might get 0.10".  Forecast was "you're too far north" so it's a small win.
