No downslope component like there might be for tomorrow. I’m a little surprised we didn’t cool down more since water temp at Jones Beach is only 65.

the heat is too strong and overpowers the ocean.  This is a very deep layer of heat.

It's like in the winter when you have a deep layer of arctic air and the temperature doesn't rise much even when the flow switches onshore.

95.6 now.  All stations within a 5 mile radius of me are between 95 and 97.5 on the ambient network

GEMLAM did ok for your area, it was too hot to your east and NE though.

Still holding around 95, the 12k NAM did well showing 96 for my area at 2PM. It doesn't kick in the seabreeze for my until between 5PM and 8PM, since at 5PM I am still at 94. But by 8PM I am in the mid 80s.

Let's see how it does.

Looks a couple degrees cooler on your end by all the stations I see. A few 98s and 99s a little north and a couple 101s and a 103 in Bradley Gardens.

I always look to see if there's another station next to the ones that are on the extreme ends to make sure they are reflecting reality. For example there is a station near me that is saying it's almost 102 right now, but every other station is between 94 and 97, so I toss it.

Yeah, I see a 99.5 up by route 22, a 99.3 by Bradley Gardens and a 98.9 by Harlen School road.  Most of the other stations around seem to be 95-97 though.  Mine just got all messed up and popped to 103, lol, but I don't use that for temps since its on my roof.

it's nothing crazy outside of EWR-mostly mid 90's.

Mid to upper 90s for most, Euro for 2PM today had this on the Saturday 0z run:

Even today's 12z run, it had a spot of 103 in western Queens and thereabouts.

now do dewpoints and heat index

My concern was high temps because I don't think Coned can handle it. I posted a couple days ago responding to @LibertyBell that dewpoints will be nasty since he was looking for a 2010 type of heat.
