I did not say it took that. And I also stated there were two out of 11 30+ 90+ day summers without any heat prior to June. WX/PT
Wxoutlooksblog
This is the problem and it was also the problem a year ago. We'll see if that upper low ever relinquishes its domination over the weather in the northeast this summer. Last year it really didn't. And the ridge building is in the Plains States. Plains and western mid west. WX/PT

I'm in the same building that I was in 2011 but was on the third floor then, first floor now. I'm not sure how much of a factor that is but to me 2011 was worse so its interesting to read everyone's different take here. Totally agree! In 2011 was much more of a rolling feeling out here on Long Island - could actually see my office wall flexing and the lights were swinging back and forth like crazy. This one was more like vibration/shaking. Both really cool though!

Models right now showing a half inch to 1 inch rainfall, not too bad. Hopefully that will be the case since the last thing we need is another 3 inch super soaker. Of course the way things have been going, it wouldn't be surprising to see the models trend wetter as it gets closer. Anyway it's 68 degrees here. Beautiful weather today. bluewave
One of the stronger west based blocking patterns that we have seen in early April. Interesting how the spring has been one of our better blocking seasons of the year recently. This has allowed the cooler maxes to dominate with the mild minimums.

TJW014
Bummer for yesterday. I had a family friend offer me a place to stay at their property in Maine, but luck would have it that I developed a sinus infection coupled with bronchitis on Sunday. The medication makes me feel drowsy, so there was no way I was going to drive nine hours by myself. To add insult to injury, cloud cover spoiled the chance to see the crescent sun here at home. I'll have to wait another 21 years to watch it with my family in Florida—provided it's not submerged by then. On a positive note, today is looking gorgeous. Widespread 70s, somewhere inland will hit 80. afternoon sea breeze could dampen the enjoyment at the beaches, but I'm planning to soak up some much-needed vitamin D.
