Only problem is the Euro took a step away from the GFS. Hang in there, there is still hope.
burgertime
Also just want to point out many here getting upset at runs not showing 1 foot of snow are likely to still get a good 4-6. I get being in ENC fretting about this storm. But if you're in WNC you should be counting your blessings and overjoyed at what you're seeing.

TARHEELPROGRAMMER88
What is longest drought of 5 plus inches of snow in a season in Raleigh? Just curious.

Brick Tamland
The models were great. Then WRAL said the chance for snow here was increasing, and the models started going the other way.

burrel2
I’m trying to remain happy here… all models showing 1-2 inch liquid for the upstate and worst case it will be a raging sleet storm with temps in the mid 20s. It’s been a long time since we've experienced that. I still think there’s a 50/50 chance we get significant snow accumulations on the front end as well. Can’t complain about that at this point! 1
CaryWx
Glad I didn't stay up past midnight for the rest of that Freddie Kruger nightmare. Reading surface temps in Raleigh might hit 50 at some point on Sunday? Ready to throw in a hamper full of towels for the Triangle.

wx n of atl
It will be interesting to see what the EURO shows, I do remember late 80s or early 90s north of Atlanta we had 3- 4 inches of sleet. I recall, weather maps always had big adjustment as we got closer to storm day, better sampling of data

At this point I'm starting to wonder about that finger of precip that's not showing up yet and could that be all snow and help nw sc and ne ga out a bit? Possibly help us stay snow a little longer before the changeover.
Snow dog
So me and the Mrs are going to be at Grove Park (Asheville) this weekend, leaving to come back home on Sunday morning. As of now, will I be able to get out ok, as this thing has slowed down to a Sunday morning start? Or will this be the worst time to be on the roads? Brick Tamland
Looks like we're entering that period where the models start going back and forth. Monday night was great, then started going bad yesterday afternoon, and maybe getting a little improvement now. Back and forth they go. What we'll get, no one really knows. Brick Tamland
Maybe this will be like the the Christmas 2010 storm where it looked great, then looked awful about 48 hours out only to look great again 24 hours before the storm.

Totally different setup. It looked awful because the models "lost" the storm not because it was amped up.
Brick Tamland
Well, maybe this time they'll go back to the favorable track for the low to bring back the monster snow storm.
