pretty shocking to see after the recent warmth. guess the dry/cold air feed from the east means business.

Indeed.

2” soil temp still in the upper 30’s here, and probably a bit higher down there...So I’d imagine any accretion is on elevated/colder surfaces.

Pouring rain and sleet. Elevated objects (wires, etc) are iced up, even with the windy conditions. 31˚/26˚ at mi casa. Good thing I got the day off. Time for a nap. :D

My destiny.  Dews are barely into double digits around here though so it may take some time.

it took long enough but the GFS finally came back down to earth here and now only forecasts 3" after predicting warning criteria snow for about the past 5 days

NE'ward progress of precip seems to have stalled in the far SW corner of Dane Co. (and it's probably not even reaching the ground there).

We busted bad over here.  Some of the models were pretty aggressive and DVN even upgraded us to a winter storm warning overnight.  The result?  0.7" of snow.  The cold air aloft was late.  By the time it finally switched to snow, the heavy precip was already gone.

That sucks.  Last evening's 00z HRRR run was lol worthy, showing 10"+ in the Cedar Rapids area.

I'd be curious to know how much qpf fell here, we've had steady moderate to heavy precip since 7:30.  Guessing it's gotta be pushing an inch.

Yeah, although I'm glad we didn't get any freezing rain since it was just barely above freezing right before it switched to snow.
