gravitylover
I had a thicker dusting this morning than yesterday but not measurable. It looked nice for a little while but now it's melting off on all but the darkest shaded areas.
Cfa
0.2” here. Fun while it lasted. 36 and sunny now. Previous snowfall was exactly one month ago on Dec 20th, only 0.3” fell then. Last winter I’d already had my last snow for the season on Jan 18th, 2.5” fell on that date.
wdrag
The band coming NNJ and NW CT at 1035AM is pretty good snowfall for a few minutes. PHI: Wantage NJ - this part: another 0.1" in our 10AM 1/4SM SW+. Gust was only 28MPH at 1004AM The first tenth had melted by 930A. pavements just wet with the 10AM squall. gravitylover
Had a couple of rounds of snow and graupel showers since this morning. That .2 measurement at KDXR is pretty aggressive but I guess they could have had .175 more than me...

wdrag
I'll do a wrap up snow amounts for the week either Friday or Saturday at 10AM as a second episode occurs midday today - Friday, just north of I84 where a few of our members live. Dustings to possibly as much 1" possible by Noon Friday, with the Litchfield Hills and Catskills most favored. (I'll toss in the prelim week summary CoCoRAHS graphic by Noon today).

A nice surprise and cool to watch the snow cool the column. we had snow cover on some of our roads on the south shore too, there should've been a snow squall warning with this, no way this was a T here, more like half an inch. Since NYC will most likely be 0.8 inches of total snowfall for the last 30 years short of achieving a 30 inch average for 1991-2020, shows how those missed measurements come into play. Just take a couple of those over the last 30 years, and we all know there are many more than a couple, and instead of 29.9 inches which is what the new average will most likely be depending on how they round each month, and they would easily reach or surpass 30.0 inches.

So the total was 3.2 from the other day and 2.0 from yesterday, Walt?

I have been reading that the pattern should warm up again after Feb 2 (Groundhog Day!) but there could be another cold down sometime around Valentine's Day or around President's Day and that might last a week or two also?
