Yup. Another winter of early cold and snow but the heart is crap, when it matters most.

Yeah, looks like the ridging over the mountain west is building in response to that ull crashing into the west coast.  Would promote downstream troughing.  It’s a delicate setup though, so I would not have any expectations as of yet.

And for those simplifying the situation presuming if AK has low pressure and cold it’s warm here....you weren’t around during the frigid AK and east coast winters of the 60s.  Negative PDO with NAO can give you some weenie solutions.  Without the nao we’re at the mercy of nuances.
