Sept 2019 Observations

Recommended Posts

Highs today:

ATL  99

CLT  98

CAE  97

RDU  96

GSP  96

PTI   95

TYS  94

AVL  91

Almost all of these were records, except CAE (not sure about TYS).

I noticed Augusta to CAE to FLO were not as hot as some other cities, relative to normal, clouds or just wind flow or orientation of the high?

Anyway, crazy stretch especially ATL seems to have been the epicenter; 10 straight days at 95 or higher.

Definitely feel the difference this morning with the frontal passage. Cooler and overcast with a stiff NE wind. Still not the cool crisp dew points we're waiting for but a good break from the last couple of days.

97 so far today at ATL.  Maybe we overachieve and hit 100 today.  Already a new record for the date with that 97

Yeah, was only forecst for 90 at GSP but 94 there currently. Hate busting high!

98 today.  We have been busting high by a few degrees each day this week.  Brutal.

Finally! Almost an inch of much needed rain. The wind made a mess of the yard, but it was worth it.

I second that...got .85 here last night and it was desperately needed. Now if only we can get this infuriating heat to go away.

Very reasonable day. Can't complain today.

Low to mid 80s.

Had 5-6 showers today. Looks like another here shortly.

Been windy not so much today. But these little cells are very fast.

It would be nice if there was some weather to type about. Hard to get excited about today's 30% chance and another washed out frontal system.

GSP supposed to be 82/62 today with average temps dropping every couple of days.  We ain't been CLOSE  to that!

Our 30 year averages are going to skyrocket once the 80s drop off and we figure in the 2010s.

That's a good thing. Then you won't have to complain about temps being so far above average. You can just enjoy!

98 in Atlanta and 103 in Macon.  Both records for the date.

WOW. Also 96 CAE, 95 GSP, 94 CLT, and even 90 AVL. This has been truly ridiculous, especially the daily highs. I though last Sept was bad but geez.

Dry as a bone in CAE.  Missed the line of storms that came through last Friday.  Don't even remember the last time we got a good soaking IMBY.  Welcome the cooler temps this weekend but, man, need some rain.  Nothing but sunshine on the 10 day last I checked either.
